Calvin and Warnie will be slapping on the pads this Australia Day to play in the United We Stand Twenty20 Cricket match at Cox Oval, Yarra Bend Park, Fairfield at 10am.

Our preseason Dream Team study will go on hold as we make the trek over from Tassie to take part in this awesome cause raising money for those affected by the Queensland and Victorian floods.

Should be an awesome day. Filled with beers, live music and dodgy cricketers.

Player Profiles:

Name: Calvin
Highest score: 85 vs Ulverstone High School Grade 9 in 1994.
Best figures: 2/22 … same day.
Calvin has only played in 4 cricket matches in his short but promising career. Recently Calvin filled in for Beauty Point Cricket Club scoring a quick fire 47 not out off 27 balls, including 6 sixes. He was asked to come back the next week only to disappoint with a duck and was delisted. Calvin loves the short form of the game as he doesn’t have the attention span for 50 over cricket. He does hold the record along with Tit-ed for scoring 70 off 24 balls in Indoor Cricket. Calvin is looking forward to not getting another duck and yorking people on the second bounce.

Name: Warnie
Highest score: 37 not out vs St Helens B Grade in 1999.
Best figures: 5/12 off 8 overs vs Branxholm, Semi-Final 2000.
Warnie by name and Warnie by nature. He started his cricket career at the age of 12 and played for 10 years for the Bridport Cricket Club winning 6 premierships. His career was cut short because he couldn’t be stuffed standing around all day in the cricket field in the summer on a Saturday when there were plenty of beers to drink. In 2010, his brother called him up to fill in for his team and after 8 years in retirement, showed he hadn’t lost a thing bowling his leg breaks and taking 5 wickets in a man of the match effort. He did say not to publish that is for 5/58 off 8 overs with the majority of the wickets caught on the fence.

Hope to see a heap of people there!
