Official Injury List Ahead of the Grand Final

HodgeyThe names that we are waiting on are Luke Hodge and Paul Chapman. Chappy is listed as a test, but his replacement is on notice. So, one would assume he will be playing on Saturday. DT Talk’s own Hodgey has nothing wrong with his ribs - however I am sure they will cop a bit of attention this week! Could that stop you putting him in your team anyway?

THE OFFICIAL INJURY LISTS (AS PROVIDED BY THE CLUBS)

Brent Prismall (knee) - unavailable

Official Injury List Ahead of Finals Week 3

chapman.jpgThe biggest thing to note here is that Paul Chapman won’t be playing this week, so don’t pick him!

Also, be wary of take-a-Chance-on-me, Chance Bateman who hurt his ankle at training this week. So, I wouldn’t risk him (not that he would be a contender anyway - hey Chop!).

Cooney has the flu and a sore knee

Heads up for those thinking of selecting Adam Cooney… he missed training today because of the flu and is nursing a sore knee too.

Bulldogs football manager James Fantasia was confident that Cooney would be fit for Friday night’s match. “There’s a combination. He has got a bit of a flu, which has kept him away from the club, and a bit of a sore knee as well,” Fantasia said. “He has got a double whammy. We don’t see any problem whatsoever, but it’s one of those things where you need to keep him away from people and keep him off his feet.”

Chapman - will he, or won’t he?

Geelong is giving Paul Chapman until Tuesday to prove his fitness ahead of this week’s preliminary final against the Dogs. There have been mixed reports… “Chapman likely to face Dogs” and “Chapman no certainty“… so it’s anyone’s guess! For Finals Dream Team, I would be staying away at this stage - even if he is tasty there as a forward!

Those thinking about Justin Koschitzke for this week can worry no more about his tribunal date, his charge was dropped.

Injury lists will be published tomorrow.

Lenny Hayes free to play in your DT this week

The match review panel has cleared Lenny Hayes of any wrong doing after he was reported for striking Joel Selwood. This is fantastic news as picking a side was going to be hard enough, let alone with a decent DTer being suspended!

Injury wash-up from Finals Week 1

Alright… I guess we are looking ahead to this week’s Semi Finals version of Finals Dream Team and don’t want some of these injured guns, so be wary of these blokes (thanks to Real Footy).

  • WESTERN BULLDOGS:
LINDSAY GILBEE (thigh) Came off the ground with a corked thigh in the last quarter. Should play this week.
ROBERT MURPHY (knee) Bruised knee. Should recover in time to play.
  • COLLINGWOOD:
    SIMON PRESTIGIACOMO
(shoulder) Injured shoulder in the first quarter. Played on though a little restricted. Very sore after game. In some doubt for this week.
  • ST KILDA:
JASON BLAKE (shoulder/thumb) Appeared to partially dislocate his chronically injured shoulder, for which he needs surgery at the end of the season. Club said he had a thumb injury.

And be wary of these blokes in the Preliminary Finals:

  • HAWTHORN:
    TRENT CROAD
(foot) Did not return after half-time due to foot injury. Has two weeks to recover and should be OK.
RICK LADSON (shoulder) Minor shoulder injury. Will appreciate the extra week off.
GRANT BIRCHALL (corked hip) Very painful blow to the hip. Might have struggled for this week but with the extra time will be OK for the Hawks’ next match.
  • GEELONG:
BRENT PRISMALL (knee) Tore anterior cruciate ligament in the first quarter of yesterday’s match. Will have a knee reconstruction this week and will not play football for nine months.
DARREN MILBURN (thumb) Injured thumb early in the game yesterday. Played on in some discomfort. Will have scans and further assessment today.
TOM HARLEY (buttock) Landed heavily in the third quarter. Played on until halfway through the final term. Will be OK with the extra week’s rest.
PAUL CHAPMAN (hamstring) Spent the second half on the bench and walked off with ice packs on a hamstring. The Cats are hopeful he will be OK for their next match.

Rooke one week, Mitchell free to play

Max Rooke from the Cats has been offered a one match ban (down from two) if he pleads guilty to his high hit on the Roos’ Sam Power. All other cases were given the all clear at the tribunal - Sam Mitchell’s coaches will be happy about that! To read what the match review panel had to say on all of the incidents, click here.
