I write this wiping away a tear from my eye as the AFL Dream Team season is over. Congratulations to Tackling Tit-ed in defeating destROY by 16 points in our thrilling league final. It basically came down to Bowden vs Deledio (pictured right with coach Tit-ed) in the last quarter… and that goal that Lids kicked at the end kicked Tit-ed to his first ever DT Grand Final win.
So, now it’s time for our last Round Review of the 2008 DT season… this is the place to let everyone know how you went this weekend and a place that you can celebrate or commiserate your own league Grand Final.

Words cannot describe how I feel at the moment. I have been let down by so many of my boys. I’ve taken them through 21 rounds… there have been highs and there have been lows. But the Warne Dawgs bow out now at the final hurdle. Congrats to Tackling Tit-ed who out coached me and will take on destROY in the big one next week.

Gonna find my baby gonna hold her tight, gonna get some Friday Night Delight… Last night was like watching USA Dream Team of 1992 play against some Division 3 rejects without arms. Nevertheless, DT points where everywhere. Geelong equalled the record of most possies in a game with 469, what? Couldn’t find one more handball boys? Not one Geelong player had single figure disposals, and 6 players had 30+, and it was in the wet. SHIT! 60% of coaches last night used their captains in Corey (122) and Bartel (99) and should be reasonably happy with their return. But it was who I rate as the best backman in the competition who stole the points. Andrew Mackie had 136, and with his lowest score of 85 in his last 8 at an average of 102, he is worthy of the #1 spot. He averages 95 this year and is an absolute jet! 7 Geelong players last night managed to break the 100pt mark as they cruised to a 116 win! On the other side of the fence, you gotta feel for Brad Green who dug deep again to knock up 112 and trade bait Jeff White was a late inclusion for his pissy 61pts. Some of the young guns of the competition cashed in too. Many coaches would be happy with Vallenti’s 71 and Harry Taylor’s 77. All I can say is what Tom Will’s said on the DT Talk ad this week on episode 19, “thank fuck for dream team” cause without this stat chasing game we love, last night would have been torture.
Awww… kinda sad isn’t it! The last league game has now wrapped up… but we all get to fight on another week - whether it is in the top eight or down there in the plate final.
The round started off with some massive scores, and those that followed Calvin’s number 1 picks in Calvin’s Captains will be happy with Jimmy Bartel, Joel Corey, Lance Franklin or Kane Cornes (maybe not so with Jono Brown)… but should have a lot of people around that 2000 mark!
One sad thing is what happened to Jason Porplyzia… he was a hero last week coming back from his dislocated shoulder kicking 5 goals, then this week, was knocked out and potentially, we could see the end of Porpy’s season.

There is one bloke who will never get a gig in many a DT ever again… Heath Shaw! What a useless prick! Can’t handle a tag? Bloody hell… he is a disgrace! If I had a trade he would be out of my side - and at this rate, you’d be lucky to even get Paddy Ryder for him.
