Moneyball’s $5,000 Saturday Slam

I hope you legends are ready to FLEX and use that Moneyball FLEX options to be in the big money today!

It’s the big $5,000 with the winner taking $650 and it pays $34.18 right down to 89th

Bulldogs v Port Adelaide 1:45pm AEST
Collingwood v Geelong
GWS v West Coast
Carlton v Hawthorn
Gold Coast v Essendon 7:25pm AEST

Tom Bellchambers (RUC, $6,800)

Today Bellchambers will be rucking solo. As we know with ruckman, they do not play well with others and therefore Tom’s output should be much greater than his price suggests.

With Gold Coats’s Witts and Currie out, he’s only up against the Sun’s third option and should score with ease like he has shown this year already with scores of 110, 107 and 91.

Keegan Brooksby (RUC, $5,200)

Who? Oh here is the third ruck option for the Suns and at this price (and the fact that he’ll be solo) we have to lock in young Brooksby as well.

He scored 82 earlier this year and back in 2016 when he was given a run he scored 92 and 101.

Shane Mumford (RUC, $7,900)

“Three ruckman in your best picks? Cal have you lost your bloody mind?”

Potentially… yes, but with the ‘FLEX option’ available to Moneyball players, it’s certainly worth using here on big Mumford back from suspension.

As we know, West Coast given up so many points to opposition ruckman and this week Mummy gets his turn.

R18 Grundy – 127, 42 hitouts
R19 Martin –   113, 50 hitouts
R20 Longer –  112, 51 hitouts
R21 Kreuzer – 111, 33 hitouts

Thanks for these stats Mr. Tbetta and thanks West Coast for having spud ruckman!

Zach Merrett (MID, $10,300)

Zach is my Fantasy captain today, so therefore he’s the premium jet that I’m tipping to be huge.

Before being suspended though, Zach had failed to crack a ton on three occasions so it does come with a risk. In his last two games against the Suns though he has scored 127 and 119 though which gives me confidence.

What gives me more confidence is the fact that he should be eager to make up for his error two weeks ago when he was suspended and score like Beams (143) and Rocky (123) did against the Suns last week. Let’s not forget that Neale (152) and Fyfe (132) did the same damage two weeks ago as well. C’mon Zach!

Matthew Scharenberg (DEF, $6,200)

The Berg has been in amazing touch over the last over the last three weeks, replicating the numbers we saw in the VFL that earned him selection. He’s averaging 96 in his last three games and is back under the roof where he scored a nice 96 recently against the Kangaroos.

Sam Menegola (MID, $8,800)

This year against the Pies, Menegola came out and scored a solid 94. But that’s not why he’s my #1 pick today.

The reason is as simple as this… Sam plays better when he actually gets a run in the middle and the opportunity he deserves. Now, he won’t get this opportunity when Geelong are at full strength and with Joel Selwood on the sidelines, today is another day where we will see Menegola with another big scores.

Last 4 scores with both Danger/Selwood:  84,   75,   79, 103.
At an average here of 85

Last 4 scores when at least one missing: 124, 113, 120, 110.
At an average here of 117

These numbers are once again another TBetta masterpiece and it paints a picture that is so clear and so exciting.

With an average of 111 in his last three games, and back at the MCG where he has already hit the heights of 133 this year, Menegola is cheap and certainly worth a spot in your team today.

All the best and good luck those who are alive in their Preliminary Final this week in AFL Fantasy.
