AFL Team Sheets – Round Ten

Round Ten team sheets are in, come check out all the carnage to prepare for this week of AFL Fantasy with Jelms.

Wow, talk about carnage. With our backlines getting absolutely rinsed, a lot of coaches will be struggling to avoid a doughnut this week with popular rookie options being omitted. This shapes to be a rough week for all with some nifty trading required to field a full 22, especially for those fielding squads filled with Port Adelaide and Gold Coast Suns players. Lets get into all the INs and OUTs for round ten!

Who’s IN?

Captaining the list of inclusions this week is Giants superstar Josh Kelly, who has missed the past six games with a groin injury. Kelly shapes as an upgrade target with a low ownership percentage once he gets back into the groove of things. Joining him in the Giants squad this week is Matt Buntine. Those of you following the articles released by the milkmen will be glad to see his inclusion in the struggling Giants backline. The pies have rolled the dice and recalled tagger Levi Greenwood, with a job on Jack Macrae the most obvious prediction. As covered by Calvin in his captains segment, this inclusion shouldn’t be too much to worry about for our star bulldog, with Greenwood not having played a match at AFL level since late last year. Bluebaggers rejoice, Ed Curnow returns after spending the week in the tribunals bad books. His inclusion is set to help out in the engine room, whilst also provide some relief to those coaches that held him for the week. Matt Crouch appears set to play this week after being named on the ball by the crows in their Sunday clash with Melbourne. Fantasy piglet Jack Higgins returns this week for the Tigers, whilst Ryley Stoddart makes his debut for the Swans. The latter appears to be replacing the injured Callum Mills, who is set to miss the rest of the season with a broken foot. Geelong have recalled exciting big man Esava Ratugolea and have handed a debut to young forward Jamaine Jones (FWD $170,000).  Finally, Stefan Giro has been named in Fremantles Sunday squad, tomorrow we will be able to see if he has held down a spot for his debut against the Roos.

Who’s OUT?

Here’s where we bring out the masking tape, because we have some serious holes to cover, especially in defence. Leading the OUTs this week is 2018 rookie sensation, Sam Murray. Most coaches were more than happy to hold Murray at D5/D6 throughout the byes, however, Nathan Buckley apparently has other plans. The pies whipping boy has been listed as omitted, so a swift return to the side isn’t impossible, but I won’t be holding my breath. Joining Murray in the round ten backline rookie carnage are Giants defenders Jeremy Finlayson, Isaac Cumming and Lachlan Keefe. Leon Cameron must really have it out for the AFL fantasy community if these omissions are anything to go by, perhaps Elliot Yeo Blocked him on twitter? With these four rookies out, many coaches will be scrambling to grab cover down back, so make sure you use your trades wisely this week!

Continuing the trend of dropping backline rookies, Saint Kilda have opted to manage the workload of Nicholas Coffield by giving him the week off. The Saints have also decided to omit prime ball mover David Armitage for their clash with Richmond on Saturday. Carlton have again lost their skipper Marc Murphy following his one game return last week. Murphy spent an extended amount of time on the bench in the first quarter after an injury concern, which appears to be keeping him out this week. FWD/MID options Dylan Clarke and Mitchell Crowden have both been dropped from Essendon and Fremantles sides respectively, following unsensational showings last week.

That concludes our wrap up for this weeks most relevant fantasy INs and OUTs, kick off any questions you have in the forum below, or alternatively you can catch me on twitter over at JelmsDT. Goodluck!

James is a Port Adelaide aficionado who spends a ridiculous amount of time deep-diving into AFL data and statistics in search of that elusive hat. Has way too many under 23's in his team over at Perthbowl Keeper League. Always happy for a yarn @_Jelms
