  • Kelly and Sicily
    M.Crouch and Savage?

    • 1. Kelly unstoppable will definitely average more than Crouch (who’s also a gun but I can’t see breaking the 110 barrier into Uber territory like Kelly). Although he’s risky I’m 100% sold on Sicily to go 85-90 average (most scores in the 90-105 range with a few stinkers bringing his average down. Also love the chance to swing him FWD where the rookies are a bit of a worry for scoring and depth. Good luck

      • You should check out Crouch’s second half of 2017 if you doubt him going 110

      • Kelly unstoppable? Never copped a tag yet, watch him get the attention this year. Matt crouch is an unstoppable disposal fiend, I agree with Billy, look at his second half of last year and his disposal numbers in the JLT tell me he can move into uber premo territory. Both should average simlar

        • Not doubting Crouch is a jet and a worthy selection but he’s handball happy and doesn’t kick many goals. I think Crouch will average between 105-110 while I think Kelly will be in the 110-115 range – just my opinion at the end of the day

  • Looking pretty vanilla but happy to squeeze the extra premium MID into the structure.
Planning to swing Sicily forward when Whitfield hopefully gets round 6 DPP. FWD line rooks are a bit weak but that’ll be the my first upgrade targeted area.

Laird, Lloyd, Sicily, Corfield, Naughton, Murray (Doedee, Finlayson)
Mitchell, Neale, Parker, Cripps, Whitfield, Coniglio, Brayshaw, Kelly (Holman, Banfield)
    Martin, Gawn (Cameron, Frampton)
Billings, Heeney, Smith, Raynor, Fritsch, Venables (Langdon, Keefe)

    Thoughts appreciated

    • Overall it might be considered vanilla but the game isn’t won or lost with your starting side, it’s won throughgood trading

Cripps, Coniglio, Whitfield are all value picks but don’t see any being a top 10 mid. Whitfield a good chance for DPP but then again he may not get it, champion data are highly unusual like that. I’d try and get one of the 3 up to a big dog mid like Dusty if you’ve got the money

Overall it’s a very solid side though. Well done

      • Cheers for the feedback.

I was very keen to go traditional guns and rookies but there’s not enough rookies I like to be able to load on up on the uber premos in the MIDs.

I’m optimistic Whitfields new role will see him average ~105 which makes him worthwhile regardless of DPP in my opinion.

I’m always keen to get as many premo’s in the MIDs as soon as possible because I find you can upgrade the other lines more quickly as you need less cash to do so

  • Walters v Devon Smith
    Liberatore vs O’Meara
    Hutchings vs Christensen

    19k remaining

  • Thoughts on my team? Tweaked it since last time it was touched, also not sure whether to play 2 or 3 rooks in the midfield.

DEF: Laird, Hibberd, Sicily, COffield, O’Shea, Murray (Keefe, Doedee)

MID: Titch, Zerrett, Treloar, Parker, Coniglio, Armitage, Brayshaw, Dow (Banfield, Holman)

    RUC: Jacobs, Gawn (English, Cameron)

FWD: Heeney, McClean, Smith, Christensen, Fritsch, Waterman (Giles – Langdon, Vanebels)

Also left with 10K left to spear. If O’Shea is not named for first round will probably swap him out with Naughton and either downgrade Dow to Kelly or Jacobs to Ryder

  • DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Sicily, Coffield, Naughton, Murray, (Doedee, Finlayson)
MID: Mitchell, Merrett, Treloar, Neale, Coniglio, JOM, Brayshaw, Kelly (Banfield, Holman)
    RUCK: Martin, Gawn, (Cameron, Frampton)
FOR: Billings, Heeney, Smith, Rayner, Fritsch, Waterman, (Ryan, Keeffe)

The team looks pretty boring at the moment. Any good PODs I can add to my team?

    • We can suggest all these pods to you, but you wont end up taking them as you like the players you have now so much

      • Haha. There are actually several players on the team that I am unsure about including JOM, Sicily, Rayner and Cog.

        • Alright. Def: Savage, Salem (Most Centre bounces for dees over JLT.)
MID: Selwood, Hall, Clayton Oliver, Sidebottom, Libba
          FWD: Hutchings, Mccartin
          Ruck: Goldy, Sandi

  • Dusty (M3) and keeffe (F8)

    Neale (M4) and Fogarty (F5-6)

  • 110k in the bank to fix up rookies:

Laird, Hibberd, Savage, Sicily, Coffield, Murray (Doedee, Keefe)

Mitchell, Merrett, Kelly, Gibbs, Parker, Brayshaw (Freo), Kelly, Holman (Banfield, Finlayson)

    Ryder, Gawn (Crossley, Cameron)

Billings, Smith, Christensen, C.Brown, Rayner, Fritsch (Waterman, Langdon)

I like the more expensive rookies in the forward line than anywhere else. I had Sicily as F3 but I like Brown and Rayner better than Naughton for scoring potential. Should I use that 110k and find extra cash to get Christensen up to somebody?

    • I agree with expensive fwd rooks. Add florent and maybe stephenson who should be solid too

    • Regarding extra cash, youre not going to get much adding 110k to christensen, so may need a restructure or strengthen rooks eg waterman to ryan/steph/florent

      • Yeah very good point, I chose Brown over Florence because of his CBA in JLT2 but would love to have both. Thanks for the feedback

  • DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Sicily, Angus Brayshaw, Coffield, Murray (Doedee, Finlayson)
MID: Mitchell, Rockliff, Parker, Whitfield, Coniglio, O’Meara, Brayshaw, Banfield (Holman, Barry)
    RUCK: Martin, Gawn (Cameron, English)
FOR: Billings, Smith, Petracca, Christensen, Rayner, Fritsch, (Ryan, Rioli)

I’ve skipped on Kelly so I could afford Martin in ruck but that also leaves me with Petracca in attack when I’d much rather have Robbo or a Premium. The best option is to downgrade Martin to Nank or Goldy but I think that Petracca (85) and Martin (100-105) will be better than Robinson (90) and Nank (90) or Goldy (90)

  • Hutchings v Christensen ?

    • Hutch will be a good pod, could be getting more midfield time from reports

      • Its not that Hutch will be getting more mid time, he will be tagging less & using the footy more. My only concern is he will still have run with roles when the eagles are getting torn apart by big names. Im not sure the eagles have another run with player as good as Hutch??

    • If picking one has to be Christensen imo
      – 40k cheaper
      – averaged consistently well in the past
      – no chance of getting tagging role that will significantly hinder scoring
      – owned by so many if it pays off you are stuck behind

no reason not to pick both though

    • i like hutchings. I think christensen might be playing more forward this yea compared to hutchings who will likely play as an attacking midfielder with players like mitchell and priddis retiring

  • Everyone is swigging vanilla from the same bottle……

    • There’s usually a reason why a lot of people are vanilla. I had a few pods but JLT ruined a couple of them. There are one or two pods I’d like but can’t fit them in but you shouldn’t go for pods for the sake of having someone different. Go for who you think will be best. There are some people who just don’t know who to get so they get who everyone else has like I did with crisp for a while but was never sold on him.

      • JLT has that effect. Iv went with Bennell at F6 and Cox at F4. Bennell will play R1 mark my words. I also think Cox is going to have a better year than expected. Will provide cover if Nicnat doesn’t step up here and there. Also, Librat at M5.

    • I’ve still got quite a few POD’s. I’ve got 4 mid-pricers/premos under 7% owned, 2 of which currently have an ownership of only 0.8%.

  • 4 spots to fill $20 entry fee League 7HS33EP4

  • Coniglio (M5), jom (M6), Robbo (F3), Ryan (F5)
    Parker (M5), Dow (M6), Billings (F1), Rayner (F5)

Also Hibberd or LLoyd? Leaning towards Lloyd atm

  • Def; Laird, Lloyd, hibbo, coffield, Naughton, Murray
Mid; Titch, Dusty, Parker, Neale, Cogs, Fox, Brayshaw, Kelly
    Run; Martin, Gawn
Fwd; Smith, Heaney, Billings, Christenson, Fritsch, Ryan

Thoughts? Not sure about fox making best 22?

    • Standard but solid backline

Love the Dusty pick, good to see something different. Parker will go 105-110

      Standard rucks

      Standard forwards

Nothing wrong with the side at all mate, pretty strong, a touch vanilla but that’s ok

As for Fox I’m not sure if he’s best 22, will have to wait for the teams

  • Kelly v Gibbs?

  • Hey all, intermediate league – S3FT27EL

Starting Round 1 – 20 teams, play each team once.

  • Treloar or MCrouch?

  • Who averages more out of Lloyd and McLean? I’m thinking Lloyd but would love to know what others think

  • Any thoughts appreciated.

DEF: Simpson, Hibberd, Lloyd, Coffield, Murray, Doedee (Murphy, Finlayson)
MID: Titch, M.Crouch, Fyfe, Coniglio, Steven, O’meara, Brayshaw, Banfield (Holman, Barry)
    RUC: Ryder, Gawn (English, Cameron)
FWD: Billings, Smith, Sicily, Petracca, Christenson, Fritsch (Clarke, Rioli)

    48k left in bank.
    Cheers lads

  • Finally happy with team… RDT..

    BACKS. Laird, Hibberd,Lloyd,Brayshaw,Coffield,Naughton,Murray,Stoddart.

    MIDS. Mitchell,Merrett,Adams,Kelly,Parker,O’Meara,Raynor,Brayshaw,Banfield,Kelly,

    RUCKS. Gawn,Sandilands,Cameron.

    FWDS. Franklin,Heeney,McLean,Christensen,Stephenson,Fogerty,Fritsch,Ryan…

    $8,400 left over… all thoughts please…

  • DEF: Simpson, Hibberd, Tuohy, Coffield, Doedee, Murray (Keeffe, Pearce)

MID: Mitchell, Parker, Treloar, Neale, Whitfield, Lyons, Kelly, Banfield (Finlayson, Holman)

    RUCK: Martin, Gawn (English, Cameron)

FWD: Mundy, Smith, Petracca, Rayner, Ryan, Fritsch (Venables, Tiziani)

  • Best option??

    1. Sicily (D3) + Neale (M4) + Petracca (F4)
    2. Lloyd (D3) + J.Kelly (M4) + Rayner (F4)

In option 2, Kelly could also be M.Crouch which would leave me with 90k

  • Will Constable play? Have Holman and Constable on bench and forwards bench are Florent and Langdon, But thinking i should upgrade Constable to a better js player like a Dow or something and downgrade Florent to someone cheap but then i dont like the js of langdon and whoever i trade florent for i.e a waterman or something…

    • ive got Florent as my F5 tbh.
I think he will score well and should play most of the games.
The other one im keeping my eye is Brown from Collingwood

    • +1 have both

    • Wait for Rd1 teams to be announced, select rookies, modify team to suit.
You should have your main structure sorted by now. premos, midprice scum and rooks.
Stick to your structure after team announcements.
If your structure wont work, eg. rooks that are playing are too expensive, drop a mid price scumbag to fix the issue(s). Leave the premos where they are

    • Seems many have dropped off early preseason hype for mitch robbo. Has averaged in 90’s many times in the past. Does anyone know if his role as brissy will be more as a mid this year, and is he a reasonable chance at being a top 10 fwd returning to 92+? I reckon hes a decent chance based on past performance and a strong second showing in jlt. Going for overall so dont mind his turds as long as the average is as a keeper. Cheers

  • JJ or Sicily?

Not sold on either but I really cant afford anyone else in that price range.
or is someone better that’s a little cheaper.
Johannisen is cheap for what he can do and did ave 90 in their premiership year..

  • Id love to see peoples opinions on comparison of underpriced mids steven and coniglio. Is the tag all thats stopping steven from being a top mid again, or is it depth of mid at saints. As for cogs, can we really expect him to be a keeper?

    • Not a fan of cogs, will go 100-102 imo. Needs 35 touches or 10 tackles to rack up a big score. Will get a couple of 120-130 scores but a lot of 90’s also

With Steven the tag is the only concern. Puts up 50’s when tagged

      • For me it’s Coniglio every day of the week.
        2016 stats (Inc Final):
        22 Games
        14x 100s
        5x 120+ (and two 119s)
Not going to be an uber but hopefully get close to that 105 mark. I think that makes him a keeper or a luxury upgrade late

Steven will average around the same in my opinion but has proven he is taggable and so it will be blinders (120-130s) brought down by half a dozen sub 70 scores. If he gets on a run of good games the tag will come. His price can fluctuate a lot and while I think his starting price is value he’s the sort of player you can pick up for peanuts during the season if he has 2-3 stinkers in close succession

    • Coniglio has gone 110+ 20/95 games @21%, scored 100+ 35/95 games @36.8% and gone under 90 40/95 games @42.1%

      Steven has gone 110+ 30/154 games @19.5%, scored 100+ 57/154 games @37% and gone under 90 60/154 games @38.9%

Still difficult to split them. Personally given the fact Coniglio wont get a tag and GWS should continue their progression up the ladder, id be inclined to pick him.
Steven has only gone 105+ in 1 of his 9 seasons (2015), where as i feel Coniglio is pretty safe to go 105 with potential to go 110+ this yr.

  • DEF: Laird, Lloyd, Coffield, Naughton, Murray, Doedee (Pearce, Finlayson)
MID: Mitchell (C), Treloar (vc), Crouch, Parker, Coniglio, JOM, Fox, Brayshaw, (Kelly,Banfield)
    RUCK: Jacobs, Gawn, (Cameron, English)
FOR: Billings, Heeney, Smith, Petracca, Florent, Fritsch, (Waterman, Langond)

very happy with my team at the moment gone pretty unconventional with 4 back rookies, but really hope it will pay off.
    thoughts would be muchly appreciated

    • I like it.

Love the Treloar pick (I can’t find the cash for him at the moment). Personally not sold on Fox as I don’t think his job security is there but if you’re ready to flick him as soon as McVeigh/Hannerbery return he’ll hopefully provide some decent scores in the interim.

I’ve opted for Sicily at D3 down back (where I’ve got the 3 vanilla on field rooks) but considering swinging him FWD to have two rather than 3 on field FWD rooks who I don’t trust for a second.

  • a) Kelly + Hibberd (Melb) + Nank

    b) Merrett + Sicily + Stef/Sauce

  • DEF: Hibberd, Savage, Brayshaw, Coffield, Naughton, Murray (A.Pearce, Doedee)
MID: T.Mitchell, Duncan, Pendlebury, Treloar, Neale, Brayshaw, LDU, Kelly, (Dow, Holman)
    RUCK: Nankervis, Gawn
FWD: Greene, D.Smith, Sicily Dunkley, Christensen, Fritsch (Ryan, Venables)

    Thoughts would be appreciated

  • What’s better.
    Martin, Billings, Sicily/ Johannisen.
    Ryder, McLean, Hibberd (Melbourne)

  • What do we see Petracca averaging ?

  • Midfield premo’s are currently: titch, duncan, gibbs, treloar and whitfield. i need to remove one of them to a lower premo mid since i want to upgrade Sicily to a premo defender. Any suggestion who

  • Goldstein or Nankervis

    • Nankervis is probably safer, however Goldy has potential to be up there with the best if he can avoid sharing the ruck and live up to his previous output. Depends which was you want to go.

  • Lets discuss Elliott Yeo.

How will he go, if you read simpsons article it says more midfield time with stints in the forward line..

    • Racks up in Fantasy playing the roaming back with cheap marks
If he goes forward, massive drop in points and $$$. Only short stints for 2-3weeks while JK out as even Simpson does trust Darling
Midfield most likely though but will still drop points/$$$. Can’t see how he won’t play there especially R1 against Sydney or they will get smashed without a bigger body in there
Stay away and watch, maybe later in year when returns back

  • I need advice whether to choose Simpson or Lloyd in the backline. Could Lloyd’s scoring output drop when McVeigh returns – similar to what happened last year? Who would you choose and why?

    • Every year I don’t pick Simpson at the start as he is too old
Every year I try to get him in during the year as he is the premo and reliable
This year I am starting with Lloyd and not Simpson
Maybe but this year I will be right or the same as last few years

  • Yep Yeo will be our go to man.(Ahla Adam Hunter). Can play midfield Def Fwd and midfield…He will be a very good pick

  • DEF Laird,Simpson,Llyod,Coffield,Naughton,Murray(Mirra,Doedee)

    MIDS Mitchell,Danger,Merrett,Dusty,Duncan,JOM,Brayshaw,Banfield(Barry,Holman)

    RUCKS Gawn,Simpson(Cammeron,Frampton)

    FWDS Mclean,Smith,Sicily,Christensen,Stephenson,Fritsch(Venables,Waterman)

CASH $4k Thoughts….Not prepared to spend a extra 100k to upgrade my R2..When Simpson, Lycett,NicNat can get me 70 odd

    • That is a ripper of a midfield mate. Unfortunately it affects the team elsewhere in the fwd and ruck, you need to drop one of those guys down to an underpriced promo like Neale, rocky, Fyfe, coniglio, Whitfield etc and upgrade your ruck to a sandy/bank/goody.

    • Agreed on the r 2. I’ve gone lycett. Will ruck solo for a bit and average 80

  • Rayner or Florent?

  • First year of fantasy so any thoughts are helpful
Defs: Laird, Yeo, Lloyd, Coffield, S Murray, Doedee
Mids: Mitchell (c), Whitfield, Coniglio, Treloar, Zorko, T Kelly, P Dow, A Brayshaw (Banfield)
    Rucks: Gawn, Kreuzer
Fwds: Petracca, Heeney, Billings, Rayner, Fritsch, Hutchinson

    • Def = Yeo at max price and will drop with mid/forward role. Go someone more reliable to start like Simpson or Hibberd if you want a premo there
Mid = Zorko concerns me with tags especially with Rocky gone feeding him the ball
Ruck = Kreuzer is at max price from 1 outstanding season only and didn’t he have a recent injury? Back him in if you want
Fwds = nothing wrong with those picks

      • Top comment Grover. +1 all of that

      • Can’t recall recent gos about Hutchinson this pre season. Hasn’t been on my radar. What’s all the hype?

        • Good scorer when not tagging.
Lost weight and work on running. With that you wouldn’t expect a tagging role (will happen sometimes and R1 worry with Sydney midfielders) especially with the Eagles best 2 contests midfielders retired/sacked
Cheap and forward guaranteed games – I am picking him

          • thoughts on Ryan JS? Which west coast fwd rookies do you rate, and in what order. Thanks
