Remaining weekend teamsheets announced from ~6:25pm tonight. Some early news, it appears Jack Steele (Mid/Fwd $504,000) will be rested this week, but we should see a return of Nick Riewoldt (Fwd $531,000).
From Richmond Jack Graham (Mid $150,000) has been reinstated from injury and Tyson Stengle (Fwd $150,000) upgraded from rookie list which means they are a chance for selection.
Lots of chatter that Declan Mountford (Mid $159,000) will be given another run for North, whom we haven’t seen since round 1.

Thursday Updates

6:25pm Wednesday 14/06/2017

Eagles vs Cats teamsheet is in. Thomas Cole (Def $216,000) gives us another, albeit pricey, downgrade option in defence.
Formerly Fantasy relevant but not this year especially since losing ruck status Mark Blicavs (Mid $372,000) has been managed.

6:00pm Wednesday 14/06/2017

Round 13, the final Bye round and yet another partial lockout. Teams for Thursdays Eagles vs Cats will be announced from ~6:25pm tonight. Its a bye round where most Fantasy coaches will already be short of players with many popular players having the bye this week
Some early news already, Ed Vickers-Willis (Def $257,000) won’t do said coaches much favours, sidelined for 6-8 weeks with injury.
A player that is on many coaches ruck 4 bench is Sydney Ruckman Darcy Cameron (Ruck/Fwd $156,000) and there he may stay, out for the remainder of the season. Those who have Josh J. Kennedy (Fwd $465,000) as a POD, he’s ruled out returning this week. Fraser McInnes (Def/Fwd $270,000) has been taken up off the rookie list so comes into contention for selection tonight.

Shags’ Watchlist

yeo
Had someone told you at the start of the season that EYeo would be the highest scoring forward premium for the year you’d have been laughed out of the room. Elliot Yeo (Mid/Fwd $594,000) is not only top, he’s top by a long way and putting out numbers similar to midfield top 10. Currently averaging 107.8 for the year, now he’s had the bye, if you haven’t already got him this week is a good week to get him in.

mene
Another double watchlist as with his newly crowned forward status, and not many decent forward premium options. Second year player Sam Menegola (Mid/Fwd $539,000) comes into contention. The kid sure knows how to rack up the stats with a high of 133 this year, and averaging 95 from his games last year. He hasn’t been selected in the team every week this year which puts some question marks on Job security for a player that is priced as a premium.

Shags’ Watchlist

mount
With Ed Vickers-Willis out, Declan Mountford (Mid $159,000) is given another run. We havent seen him since round 1 where he scored a unimpressive 44. Job security is clearly an issue, but he was a player that showed potential in the preseason and he remains cheap. There aren’t many downgrade options so many will grab him, some for the second time.

Shags’ Watchlist

dusty
Dustin Martin (Mid $639,000) has well and truly cemented himself as a top 8 midfielder but is somewhat of a POD compared to the other Uber premiums scoring the same. With his bye out of the way, and scoring as a $700k+ player, its as good a time to grab him as any.

zorko
Dayne Zorko (Mid $653,000) is another who is looking to cement themselves as a top 8 mid. With only 5.37% ownership he is a genuine POD, and averaging 119 this year, could be a strong unique for you to grab.

We simply don’t have many downgrade options so McKenzie Willis (Def/Mid $187,000) comes into vogue. 52 last week was good enough for a def rookie. I dont think his long term Job security is strong as he came in for Habrow, and you’d think he’d leave with his return.

Shags’ Watchlist

libba
Decided to chuck Tom Liberatore (Mid $419,000) on my watchlist this year. He is seriously out of sorts averaging a low 76.8 and even been dropped for a few weeks. Libba is still a young player and you’d think still part of the Doggies long term goals, so you would hope he’d make a return to form, and he is capable of premium scoring output. He is so cheap that I am definitely watching him this week, and his BE is 123. Could be a sneaky midpricer if form returns in following weeks..

  • Shags,

What’s better Steele to Higgins (don’t have any cash to get anyone else) and C.Brown M9 or Steele to Scotter Brown F6.
Leaning towards Higgins as Brown could get dropped and he’s a good bench option.
Other trades are Lloyd to Mountford and Roughy to Menegola

    • Brown has the bye this week, and I wouldn’t go Higgins (ALthough he’s averaging much higher than I thought he was)

      I prefer the second option.

      • It will be next week onwards. I’m just worried Brown may get dropped and then I’m screwed as have Eddy and Polson on bench.

  • Lol 16 at most with EVW, Steele, Pittard out, no JKH, already R13 bye heavy and I was just outside top 100.

Steele-> Scooter at least and at least I can now justify getting Jake Lloyd for Jasper

    • I think I might throw the town in RDT, I can get to 17, but have to make some questionable trades with limited trades left.

Looks like 14 on field for me.

    • Steele out meant my planned upgrade of Myers to Shuey ended up being to Scooter instead. Funny how when one domino falls many others soon follow… One game into R13 and already my team’s gone backwards.

Don’t know about chucking in the town, but chucking in the towel must be tempting for some coaches. I’m about 2 millionth overall, so won’t lose much sleep. I feel for the guys at the top such as yourself Alex.

      Here’s to a Chumbawumba-type rebound next week!

  • Thoughts on Gray to Lloyd?

  • Dusty or JPK and $$$?

  • Shags, what are your thoughts on Ablett?

  • My Team:
DEF: Adams, Docherty, Laird,Newnes, Marchbank, Scharenberg (Stewart, Ryan)
MID: Mitchell, Merrett, Rockliff, Dangerfield, Hannebery, Hall, Fyfe, Powell-Pepper (Myers, Cousins)
    RUCK: Martin, Grundy (Cameron, Buzza)
FWD: Macrae, Dahlhaus, Steele, Heeney, Nankervis, Greenwood (Lloyd, Polson)

    Cash: $24k

Was originally going Fyfe to S.Selwood, Marchbank to Lloyd and Lloyd/Myers to 150k rook or Beech. Now with Steele out should I stick with those trades or change them up? Am going to struggle to field 18 (basically impossible) as I just don’t want to trade in a dud rookie to just score 30 and save a donut or two

    • Already gone Fyfe to Selwood with other trades could go Myers to Mountford and Steele to Barlow instead, thoughts? And get Lloyd in next week.

  • F*ck James Parsons.. I shoulve gone in with 17

  • I am the only one who cares – but Touk is out too. With Steele + Touk + EVW I am stuffed. Unlikely to be top 1000 by the end of this round.

    • Touk not getting picked stuffs me around too. It forced me to make trades I didn’t want to make to try for 18. Shouldn’t have bothered. Bah!

  • Cant get anymore on the ground than 15, with forced Pittard trade ..

    Pittard to Lloyd
    Otten to Macrea
    WHE to Mountford via DPP

sitting 691 .. dont think i will be top 1000 after this debacle

only 159k in bank for nxt week also

  • Season over, danger, yeo and scooter all scoring well on my bench. Fuck

  • Gaz or Dusty

  • Wow. The week I finally decide to bring Selwood in he does his hammy on 60

  • Do I trade
Butler > Willis and WHE > Macrae, giving me 12k and 15 players
    or
Greenwood > Willis and WHE > Macrae, giving me 10k and 16 players.

The first option will mean i will be able to get more cash out of greenwood assuming he continues playing and his price will rise fast. Thoughts?

    • #1. Getting Willis in is at best 50 points. Won’t be relevant after the byes and won’t generate a huge amount of money. If you are desperate for a league win, yeah trade greenwood. But he is a viable on field option that will make more money than Willis and better long term.

If it helps, It looks as though almost everyone is copping at least one donut.

  • Beams vs Zorko and why?

    • zorko, does everything from 30+ touches, tackles and can kick 1 goal or 2 a game. Should be a top 8 mid.

      • Ditto Beams. They’re hard to separate in my view. I’ve toyed with the idea of having them both plus Rocky in my team, but I shy away because the Lions, let’s face it, are prone to the odd shocker.

  • Will Bailey Dale’s orange dot turn red or green in 90 minutes?

  • 9 places left in ultimate footy keeper league, here is the invitation link

    http://ultimate-footy.theage.com.au/346725/invitation

  • JPK or Zorko as POD captains this week?

  • Zorko , beams or dusty ?
