Inside the Numbers Round 9 Wrap

After conceding an average of 365.5 Disposals from their first 4 games of 2017 West Coast has conceded 400+ Disposals in 4 of their last 5 games at an average of 418.8 per game (Rank 18), the Eagles conceded 2048 fantasy team points against the Bombers which is the most by any team this season.

Fantasy scoring is up an average 41.5pts per team compared to the 2016 H&A season, the average of 1633.0pts per game this year is also higher than the 2016 Finals Series of 1601.2pts per game.  Collingwood has the most 1800 fantasy team point games this season with 3, Hawthorn has conceded the most 1800 fantasy team point games with 4 which included 1902pts against the Magpies in Round 9.

Melbourne managed only 1502 fantasy team points against Nth Melbourne in Round 9 which was their 2nd lowest output for the season, the Demons were restricted to a season low 371 Disposals which is well down of their 410.9 average.

Essendon has shut down both Geelong & West Coast in consecutive weeks conceding just 1312 & 1460 fantasy team points respectively, the Bombers along with the Crows have conceded fewer than 1500pts in 4 games this season (Rank 1).

Looking way ahead to the final 4 weeks of the season (AFL Fantasy Finals), Nth Melbourne, Richmond & Carlton have favourable draws relating to opponent average points conceded this season. Brisbane, Collingwood & St Kilda have the harder draws, this will fluctuate for the remainder of the season but can be used a piece of the puzzle in completing final teams.
