On the Line: Brownlow Medal 2015

Stu is back for a Brownlow Medal special edition of On The Line. The best odds come from our friends at William Hill .

Hey everyone I’m back for grand final week and you know what that means? Prop bet heaven!! Between Brownlow night and the big day itself there are a ridiculous amount of interesting markets bought to us from our friends at William Hill. Here’s a look at some of the markets for the Brownlow Medal and what i like.

Most Votes by Team

Usually not a lot of value in these markets but i think $1.85 for Dyson Heppell to lead the votes for Essendon is a nice little collect for what should be a lock. For a little more value there $2.30 for Travis Boak to upset Robbie Gray at Port and for something real rough my man crush Robert Murphy is at $41 to lead the Bulldogs.

Brownlow Groups

Good value in these interesting groups. Despite being rubbed out for a few weeks I really like Hawthorn captain Luke Hodge at $4.00 in Captain Courageous (I should double check with Calvin on this). In Tall Timber Josh Kennedy (of the West Coast variety) and Roughhead are first and second favourites but everyone knows forwards get as many votes as a red head kid going for school captain, I’m taking the $4.00 available for Nic Naitanui. Wasteful ball magnets and fantasy studs are the topic of the Blaze Away Butchers market, in a down year for Geelong Josh Caddy should poll well and is good value at $6.00.

Over/Unders

Some quick hitters; Sam Mitchell over 22.5, Todd Goldstein under 19.5, Josh Kennedy (SYD) over 21.5 and Fyfe over 6.5 votes in rounds 2,3 and 4.

Exotics

I’m high on Sam Mitchell going into the count, he is a proven vote getter and has had a really consistent year, I like him at odds of $9.00 to poll in the most games. With Fyfe starting off on fire and the others chasing him down it should be a close finish, a tied finish is paying $4.50, worth a look but I’m staying away. Will Stuey Google “Rory Sloan’s Girlfriend” seems an extremely exotic market and even though it’s short at $1.05 it’s an absolute lock.

The Winner

I think it’s going to be back to back for Matt Priddis and more than happy to take the $5.25 on offer at William Hill. As mentioned earlier i think Sam Mitchell will poll well, $3.50 is available for him as a top 3 finish. My Trifecta is Priddis, Fyfe and Mitchell @ $9.00.

Good Luck everyone and enjoy the night, head over to William Hill to check out all of the markets mentioned plus a whole heap more.
