AFL Teams 2015: Round 11

So here it is! Round 11 and First week of the byes, and for some this will be the most important teamsheet of them all. There are 13 changes to Friday / Saturday teams and 7 confirmed outs so far for Sunday squads. And…its not great news for many. Not only are a third of teams not playing, but we have already heard of Players such as Vandenberg and Clark being out. A popular Bomber’s ruck is out, as well as a few popular rookies.Llastly there are less ins that many were hoping for.

Fantasy Relevant Omissions :

Amon – Nasty for those who got him just for bye structure
Luxford – rookie not made the cut
Brooksby – is a ainful out for those who grabbed him
So is McInness.
Bellchambers – Confirming speculation his is injured.
Vandenberg – as already known out for dees.

Fantasy Relevant Inclusions :

Malceski, Dixon, Leslie are in for Suns
Spurr, Mzungu, Hannath in for Freo.
Watson as a POD back for bombers.
Edwards – Def rookie
Adams – back for those who held him.

New Rookies :

Sam Colquhoun
PORT (Def. $219,000, 40 be AF. $197,700 DT)
Been on the radar for a couple of years, only caught a glimpse last year. Read Jeppas report for more rookies.

Shaun Edwards
ESS (Def. $164k AF. $124,600 RDT)
Bombers rookie is an inclusion

Andrew Boston, Tom Clurey, Elliott Kavanagh, Orazio Fantasia, and Daniel Robinson are rookies that kept their spots.

Brayden Maynard, Hugh Goddard and Alex Neal-Bullen new rookies hanging around as a possible selection on sunday games.

Other Thoughts :

Its seems bye structure is almost meaningless with so many vital outs, and quite a few (Glenn anyone) not being an in to save your team this week. Good luck trading to stop those donuts! Dont forget you have 3 trades in RDT.

Ryan Crowley has been banned for 12 months, meaning in fantasy terms the number one tagger of competition will not be tagging any of our players this year.

Got to put in a word for footy champion & past fantasy king Chris Judd. You were in many Dream teams a few years ago, including mine, and often auto lock captain. Well done on a spectacular career.

  • Trade Amon?

  • There’s only one word to describe the carnage.
    Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeit!

  • You’ve included rooks that have the bye as “kept their spots” (hamling etc.)

    • Oops. That would be the red wines I had with Dinner up with the family in Queensland talking :P

  • What are the chances of CEY not being named next week? I’m thinking of trading him

    • Playing Thurs night so you see whether he makes the cut or not before lockout. Hold for now and assess next week. If you hold back 120k you can go straight to Sloane next week if he is dropped.

  • Best FWD or DEF rookie to get?

Higgins worth a punt as well?

  • Thoughts on trading in Colquhoun strait off the bat

    • you have to wait to make sure he’s not in and out. He won’t go up much anyway.

    • I’m doing it. Been waiting for him and Scharenberg all year. Gonna be an 80 average player.

    • I like him more than Clurey or any R13 defender around that price. I’m going to take a punt that he outscores Clurey and gets another game next week – I only really need him until the byes, after that I’m hoping Byrne or JKol are banging on the door to be downgraded.

      • I like that Colquhoun is named on the wing and not on the bench, I’m probably taking the punt at this stage by going Vanders to him via higgins/byrne

        • plus he’s not named in the back pocket or something

        • From Jeppa’s Junior’s Rd 7:
“When the axe swings at Port this week, Sam Colquhoun (Def. $219,000, 40 be AF. $197,700 DT) is the first in line for a senior call up. Recent reports have also suggested that he is the likely successor to veteran Kane Cornes (source) who plays his last game this weekend. Colquhoun who now boasts long hair and a dirty mo is no stranger to AFL ranks, playing 10 games in 2013. Coming back from a knee reconstruction, he’s found plenty of the footy in the SANFL averaging 25 possessions, 12 marks, 4.5 tackles and a massive 124 Fantasy points from his past two games. Ken Hinkley appears to be a fan and I will be to if he gives us some big Fantasy scores. Colquhoun is a sensible trade down option if named but he’s not immune to the vest.”

  • Think A’V to Kav

    Bellchambers to Goldstein maybe

  • Why can’t we just have a split round rather than bye weeks? It would make my life so much happier.

    • Didn’t it used to be like that quite a few years ago?

That would make things a lot less painful.

  • ok help please
    d.smith, j kennedy or motlop………….

by the way……. carnage is all i have to say……..

    • I think neither of these…
Smith is prone to the odd stinker
JKennedy wont score big on Hooker or Rance imo.
Motlop is inconsistent and frustrating (I’m a owner)

I like Zeibel in that range, or another option is JKelly from GWS, he’ll do well against Collingwood this week and then use the extra cash next week for double upgrade with Dahlhaus, deledio and all the R11 premos free’d up.

  • Is T Adams a certain to play???

  • Who should i downgrade saad to… Clurey or alex pearce?

    • trengove back son so i would probs pick pearce but he won’t score many points

  • What’s people’s thoughts of Lewis for upcoming month after Hawthorn bye, will he be scoring well against those opposition or will he be doubtful to be scoring huge ?? Just wondering if I should trade out now to help me thru these bye rounds as I can pump some other good options into team and get him later again as he is leaking cash

  • Q) What time did the Irishman dump Bellchambers?

    A) Too turdy

  • before teams, I theoretically had 17/18players to field.
now lost Amon, krakuer, brooksby, Bellchambers & Vanderberg. leaves 13players before trades.
also have Rischitelli leaking me cash this week.
Where to begin?! (and im sure there’s some people worse off than myself.)
    Carnage.

  • Do we have the same team robo? Ha weird..

  • I am so stumped…
Would you guys get in Ward or Ebert? And also who is the best player under 230k anywhere on the ground with a round 13 bye? I already have Dumont

  • Acres or Boston?

  • AFL FANTASY
DEF: Hodge, Yeo, Hibbo, Newnes, Saad, McIntosh (Schade, Byrne)
MID: Pendles, Parker, Ebert, Beams, Barlow, Rischitelli, CEY, Amon (Dumont, Glenn)
    RUCK: Sauce, Belly (Cox, Holmes)
FWD: Swan, Dahl, Martin, Mitchell, Motlop, Vandenberg (McCarthy, Clark)
    Cash: 18k
    Bye structure: 22/16/22

Only have 15 this week before trades and 16 next week before teams. Need to offload some of my Rd12 players without making my team worse. Want to get Colquhoun for Saad or McIntosh then upgrade. Thoughts?

    • Vandenberg needs to go, wont play this month and Clark is out this week and probably next week. I suggest something like Vberg > JKelly from GWS giving you +$50k and then i’d get Clark out via DDP with Byrne to defense and get in Colquhoun if you believe in him, or maybe a cheapie like Clurey.

Will leave you with $219k for next round, where you might trade Belly to Kreuzer and spend the $270k left over on upgrading Rischitelli to Lewis or maybe Boyd for that DPP flexibility to cover your Def during byes – or any R11 premo who has just had their bye.

This way also saves Saad + McIntosh available for R13.

I got way into trying to solve this… :)

  • Kavanagh vs Boston (RDT)?

Boston on the bubble, but Kavs JS and scoring potential seems better?

    • Boston as he was a bit starved of footy last week (if he plays forward every week then I guess that will be normal)

    • Kavanagh is..
      – Cheaper
      – named on ball atm
      – was praised by Hird at last press conference
      – in a better team more likely to win / score points

  • Dumont or Kavanagh? Byes not a problem?

  • have gone belly –> goldy giving me 18 players playing. worth going to 17 players playing and grabbing jacobs (for the long term)?
