Update 5:57pm AEST:

Considering there’s only 4 games on Friday and Saturday, things could get ugly.

Update 5:00pm AEST:

It has been reported that Brad Crouch will return for the Crows. Joe Daniher will make his long awaited debut for the Bombers – downgrade target after the Bombers bye perhaps?

  • interesting to see how the blicavs and dwyer situation dictates a few trades this week….

daw back means time to go…..
even though he is one of my favorite players!

  • Curious, with the DPP, if i have Cox as an emergency Ruck, with his FWD DPP, will his score then replace a forward who has a bye?

  • question time!

who do you think the BEST 22 squad will be by years end…
I think it would look something like this

DEF: Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Hanley, Duffield, Hibberd
MID: Swan (C), Ablett (VC), Beams, Jack, Barlow, Stanton, Pendlebury, Watson…. just
    RUCK: Cox, Naitanui
FWDS: Johnson, Riewoldt, Rockliff, Bartel, Martin, Stokes

In defense possibly birchall, hartlett or even enright could get in it.
In midfield it was very tight between Watson and Cornes, also dangerfield, cotchin, swallow and scooter can not be underestimated.
In rucks, Kreuzer if he stays healthy or minson may get in.
In forwards Roughead, Lewis, JJK, Franklin, Zorko or rioli could find form and make the list.

    • Looks pretty good, not sure if Jack will be in there tho!

    • Birchall instead of one of Gibbs, Hanley, Hibberd or Duffield.

Beams will need time to get back to form and to prove that he is over his injury, although I still think he is a piglet, so he should be able to make the cut. Unless Watson can avoid more of these average scores, I don’t think he should be in there. Perhaps a Dangerfield (known to be a strong finisher and has a nice run at the end of the year), Scooter, Boyd or even Fyfe due to his favourable run. I also agree with the inclusion of Jack.

If Kreuzer can keep his form and stay injury free then he will make a very strong case to get a spot here. I also think Minson should be in there anyway. That’s basically what you’ve written anyway, except that I think that Cox and Naitinui will not be in the best 2 rucks come DT finals. Even a Jarryd Roughead has the potential to be better than them. Cox is on a downwards trend and NicNat is a supercoach player.

As for the forwards, I think that list is quite close, but have you considered Cloke? I reckon his performances over the next couple of weeks may change a few minds on this subject ;)

If I could have a team even close to the one you’ve posted above by year’s end, I would be a happy man.

  • Question time v2!

Here is my squad for the Underrated/Breakout squad by years end….
these are players who have produced so far and flown under the radar doing it or had a breakout year.
Just a disclaimer, this is a FUN squad! not the best players, these players are people you didn’t expect to perform like this at start of year!

DEF: Hibberd, Malceski, Houli, Enright, Ibbostson, Duffield
MIDS: Cornes (C), Douglas, Griffin, Montagna (V), Masten, Prestia (less than 900 coaches have him!), Adams (Less than 600 coaches have him!), Hannebery
    RUCK: Minson, Pyke
FWD: Stokes, Goodes, Garlett, Harvey, Lewis, T.Lynch

    • Don’t think Harvey and Duff deserve to be there. They’ve been in a lot of watchlists methinks. Very surprised with Douglas this year. Looking good for the club B&F (and a fair amount of Brownlow votes too!).

      Maybe Brandon Ellis?

  • Blicavs does he stay or does he go? Considering before his out, I had Majak Daw locked and loaded to trade to Nicolls. Have a full side so if Blicavs did play I would have had 19.

    Thoughts?

    • Yeah bennja, I just sat down and had a read of the team sheets to discover the ‘Blicavs Issue’…. I think it depends on your personal situation.
If you are still in the eliminator and up against a big opponent then yeah you might have to bite the bullet and trade Blicavs.
However in my case im out of the eliminator and up against a weak opponent so i think ill be playing McKernan (my R3 atm with no Leuy) alongside Cox leaving Blicavs and Currie on my bench.

It really wont hurt having 18 on ground though, and with Daw likely scoring lowest anyway you only going to be boosting your score by a small fraction.

      • Speaking of Currie, is it almost worth keeping him now?
I mean the bandaid says he shoud be fit around rnd 13?
Anyone got news on Curries chance of inclusion in the coming weeks?

  • Should u go for stanton and have 18 + 2 trades in round 13 or go for jack and have 19 + 2 trades I’m round 13

  • Any good downgrade options for Mayes? Looking to offload him with high BE and too many round 11 forwards

    • Ben Kennedy from Collingwood or you roll the dice and go Joe Daniher…

      • I was looking at getting Daniher, he looks like the only option. Bit risky to bring in someone who is debuting..

  • Wines -> Stevie J & Pittard -> Malceski Or
    Wines -> Scooter & Pittard -> Enright

I have about 990K and am looking for R12 Def and Mid………… Are there any other options out there?

    • Stevie J is a must if you ask me (especially since you can slot him in to your forwards later, where he’ll clearly be the top scorer for the year – barring injury). Malceski v Enright seems pretty much 6 of one and a half dozen of the other. I presume you can’t get Enright if you get SJ, so I’d say option one.

  • Looking to bring in a round 12 mid (need either a round 12 or 13 player to make sure I have 18 this week). I’m tossing up between K Jack, B Harvey, A Swallow and C Masten. Leaning towards Harvey given his last 3 games and the DPP status (once R12 bye is over, he seems set to be one of the better scoring forwards for the rest of the year). K Jack seems to be mister consistent, but I think A Swallow could score better now that he is back on track. Thoughts?

  • Which is the best option

Dwyer > Gibbs via Staker DPP, giving me 19 players and letting me take the best score out of Thurlow and M Daw, (and leaving me with 78k).

Leuie > Kruezer leaving me with 18 (M Daw stuck on bench), forcing me to take whatever Thurlow scores, but leaving me with 168k for next week meaning (barring injuries) I should be able to upgrade M Jones to Barlow (by downgrading J Viney > B Kennedy – yes I still have the mug).

I’m covered for Round 12 and 13 byes in either case.

  • If you had a choice, would you go:

    Terlich a Jiney

    or

    Swallow Cox?
