  • Buddy’s named…hmmm surely not

  • buddy and boyd named……

    hmmmmm……

    need some help.

have treloar who can cover either line for emg. which one do people think will be more likely to be a late withdrawal as he can only cover one position.

    • You’d have to think Franklin has a greater chance of being a late withdrawal..

    • Franklin will most likely be out IMO

      • Why name him if he wont play? Its not like Hawthorn are trying to confuse the GWS backline.

He was fine against Carlton didn’t ice up or anything and trained with the group. Buddy will play.

        • “Why name him if he won’t play?” Your obviously not a Zaharakis owner.

    • If Boyd makes the trip to WA he’d be likely to play. We should know before lockout tomorrow if he missed the plane

  • do you guys think Franklin will be a late withdraw? also thoughts on goodes will he fire up soon?

  • DT Relevant OUTS:
-Robbie Warnock (more ruck time for Kruezer)
    -Bootsma
    -Martin
    -Golby
    -Goddard
    -Milera
    -Dellolio
    -Dylan Shiel
    -Sexton

  • DT Relevant INS:
    -Conca
    -Clinton Jones (to tag Watson/Stanton)
    -Darley (ext. bench)
    -Coniglio (ext. bench)
    -Taylor Adams
    -Hall (ext. bench)
    -Chapman
    -Duffield (ext. bench)

BOYD and BUDDY are named!!! :D

  • Hall “in” is good. Could cover a possible Buddy late out if he survives the cut tomorrow. Detrickx could be a good downgrade option in the ruck

    • McIntyre gooodddd fresh and should stay or 3 while tex is serving his time

      • For*

      • I dont know details but he has kicked a lot of goals in the SANFL from memory (McIntyre), but will he be DT relevant? If he gets the possessions too (because he probably won’t kick as many goals in the AFL), he might be ok

I just googled him and he is 176cms, so he is by no means a replacement for Walker, who is a tall

        • Nope, 191 cm, 98 kg tall forward. Straight swap for Tex.

          • Mcintyre def small forward not tall … Check crows website and saw him running around preseason and short stocky type. Think Zorko build

          • Him and callinan were fighting for same spot at the start of the year! He is a Fwd/Mid, Leading goal kicker in SANFL this year with 30 from 11 games. I been saying his name for the last few weeks as a cheap FWD/MID option. Weather he holds his spot is yet to be seen, but his in.

      • Shaun Mckernan is tex walkers replacement and Mcintyre is Callinan/Petrenkos replacement

  • Smedts or sam shaw on field???? Currently have smedts, as he has more PPM.

Captaining jelwood even though I know that i should never not captain ablett, beacause he will go big.

    Plaing trealor over smith

    Jmac over gibson

    Giles over campbell.

Any of these decisions sound wrong????

    • Smedts looked good on the weekend, if he can avoid the vest he should do a lot better than Shaw

Shaw is starting to score more like a tall defensive backmen now

    • Jmac over Gibson – WTF???

      Gibson is a jet

      • Why not- J MAC is consistent and now that shiel is out, he may even not tag.

      • Gibson has 1 good score, J Mac has proven himself over a much longer period.

Gibson has a higher ceiling, but more of a risk, so it depends wether you want to risk for a bigger score or go for a safe option.

Not as clear cut a decision as you say

  • Where is Pendlebury?

  • Keep an eye on Cameron Sutcliffe. I read that he had a 34 posession game in the WAFL to earn his place in the squad. If he makes the final 22 maybe we could finally have a decent rook to downgrade to

  • Do Geelong have a major tagger that would be able to shut down Gary Ablett? Because i feel as if he will bounce back after two poor weeks by his standards.

    • Taylor Hunt when to GAJ last year, problem with Ablett against these top teams is that they just have so much more possession than Gold Coast, that’s why Ablett had a bad score by his standards last week, he is one of the safest captain options.

  • callinan my D9 so now have no cover for Buddy. Maybe time to cash him in for McIntyre

    • Cashing buddy in is a good move!

      You muppet!

      • I think he meant he’s cashing Callinan in haha

      • Calling the reading and writing hotline is a good move!
        1300-6555-06
He meant cashing in callinan you muppet
Wait…. You did mean cashing in callinan right????

    • oops I did mean maybe trade callinan out from F9 spot, but rethinking and may keep callinan for when players start getting rested later in year, surely Callinan will have better JS than mcintyre who is really only getting a game because callinan is missing this week.

  • Got a bit worried with the 30 outs for Fri/Sat teams and 17 for sunday teams…sounded like a complete mess. But got a full team still (if Buddy plays that is)

  • Tim McIntyre to debut for the Crows in the Showdown this week.
He’s a 191 cm 98 kg Tall forward ie. a replacement for Tex Walker.
He’s kicked 30 goals in 11 games in the SANFL for Sturt.

Most importantly he is MID/FWD at BASEMENT price and should play the 3 weeks.

    More info:
    http://www.sturtfc.com.au/personnel/tim-mcintyre

    “Favourite Position: Half Forward, Midfield

Worst Habit: Farting at the dinner table”

  • Looks like no donuts for me, but I have to play Sam Shaw in defence.

If Franklin is a late withdrawal and Smedts doesn’t make the final 22 theres a small possibility I get a donut in the forward line.

Smedts looked good on the weekend though, so I think he should get a game… Fingers are crossed!

  • The crows have named Richard Tambling as an emg, they’ve really missed his hard ball gets…recruit of the decade anyone?

  • what are peoples thoughts…

My backline: Deledi, Waters, Broughton, Birchall, Heppell, Dempsey, Goddard
    Emg: Darley, Bugg

I have 4 trades left but really want Carrots who should i upgrade if anyone?

    • I think you need to hold on to those trades.

With all the carnage in the first half of the year, plus the carnage this week, is a reminder of what could come in the future.

It’s just lucky that all the outs are short term for the moment

    • Dempsy, but with only 4 trades i’d be keeping them for LTI’s.

    • Carrots is DEF/MID so if you’ve got a midfield rook still hanging around, trade him in for them. It’s not worth a sideways trade in your backline.

    • Hold your trades mate!

    • If everyone set their scrotum on fire, would you?

    • If your going to do it then you would have to go Dempsey but holding your trades would be a better option.

    • If you must trade- Bugg. But as said elsewhere, saving the trade may be worth more in the long run.

  • If Buddy pulls out I will have a donut….. Gonna have to cop it

  • Pendlebury, Martin and Goddard all on the bench.

    FMDT!!!!

  • buddy got twitter again so he will be.playing.and tweeting at HF.

  • Like I said Dell O’llio JS is crap.

Thankfully T Campbell looks like his JS is pretty decent.

  • Should I:

    1. Hargrave -> Scotland
-6 trades with Darley and S Shaw as bench cover

    OR

    2. S Shaw -> Scotland
-5 trades with Hargrave and Darley as bench cover

  • Any thoughts on Andrew Moore of Port Adel or Yarran to replace Bugg. Would this be a crazy trade and am i asking for trouble. Already traded out Hargraves for Carrazzo.

  • I’m happy Chappy’s Back

  • Strauss and Cook on Melbourne’s bench looks like the top of the English batting order.

    Yeah, I’m bored!

  • Anyone else having trouble logging in to DT? Can’t get into AFL or NRL but can get on anything else. Hmm

  • Go the blues!!

Heres my team have 3 trades left and $18,000 in the bank!
need to carrazzo in! but dont know what to do?? please help!

DEF: Scotland, Delidio, Goddard, Waters, Birchall, Hargrave, Darley (S.Shaw, Spurr)

MID: Swan, Ablett, Thompson, Boyd, Pendles, Watson,( Pfieffer, Williams)

    RUCK: Maric, Cox (Redden, Campbell)

FWDS: Buddy, Sidebottom, Robbo, Dangerfield, Martin,Zorko, Beams (Dickson, Zaha)

    • Masturbate. Read a book. Go to the pub. Climb a tree.

Find something to do to occupy yourself other than trading. You only have 3 left.

  • captain buddy
    vice boyd
what does everyone think?? both could score huge if they play

    • If your going to make Buddy captain you should make your vice someone that is DEFINATELY playing. Since there is talk that they could both be late withdrawals there is a small chance your left wtih no captain. Unlikely, but still a small chance

      • Also has to be some chance of a red vest if he does play. If dawks are up by 10+ goals at 3 qtr time I can see him going off, even if he takes the field in the first place.

  • Deledio as captain this week.

Averaging 117 at MCG, Highest of 160

    Thoughts?

  • Is Carrazzo worth it is my question. At what point do you say you cant justify it.

If I had 7+ trades left I would be going there but I dont know if I should be (dont want to reveal my trade count to other people in leagues who use this site), also is he the best option my backs are:

Delidio, Scotland, Goddard, Broughton, Birchall, Water, Hargrave (Darley, Ellis)

If i was to get Carrazzo in, I can, but I could also get any other back in, also should it be for Ellis Darley or Hargrave.

    • Darley > Carrazzo

Deledio, Scotland, Goddard, Birchall, Waters, CARRAZZO, Broughton (Hargreave, Ellis)

Now that’s a bloody strong backline!

      – Hargreave as backup for injury and suspension + Ellis as D-9, hasn’t missed a game, great JS…perfect!

      • Cheers mate, that probably is the best way to go about it. Was thinking of keeping Darley over Ellis but yeh JS is the big thing thing this time of year and further on. Will have a tinker around and see what looks best.

  • Not a major concern, but perhaps a few are contemplating, 1 on ground spot between S. Gibson, T.Adams & A. Saad

  • Who should I choose out of Tom Derickx or Jake Spencer? Don’t know much about either of them. And I already have Campbell from Western Bulldogs.

  • I suppose Zorko over Treloar is the safe play… The other one could well end up playing for me anyway. I’m just a bit worried about Zorko in Sydney, but then again I remember Treloar’s sub 25 effort all too well.

    Anyone else have this question?

  • I just realised my projected score went up 26 when I put Zorko on for Martin. That guy battles.

  • Had to be quick about this post so didn’t check the board, so apologies if this head to head has been raised.

Darley or Ellis out for Carrazzo?

Darley has been in since he’s been a starter which is a good sign, yet haven’t seen him play first hand – is he actually a talent or simply a DT’er and a bit sketchy in the JS dept? Regardless of Sheedy and his revolving door system, does he look like a GWS backline staple is my question I suppose?

Ellis seems to have solid JS but not the highest celing – have seen his work and looks quite comfortable.

  • Things I’ve learned about DT this year…

    1. If a player has a broken leg (and is a vital part of the premiership favourite that happen to be cruising at the moment without him) then don’t listen to the 1 game rubbish, trade him! (Incidentally I did this anyway, but it’s good for next year).

    2. Don’t pick Dustin Martin ever again… enough said

    • So you wouldn’t pick a 21 year old who is averaging 85 in a bad season next year…

      Interesting

      • Agree Rid’s, Martin is only 21, durable, still establishing himself, the kid’s going to be a gun! But I would still argue with “he’s having a bad season”, his numbers have been solid averaging 85, it’s just that we all hoped he would be averaging 105 and so he’s been a let down…but to say never again? Big call.

In saying that, this off field incident with Conner’s could potentially put him in the same basket as Ben Cousins or Heath Shaw or Fevola or Conner’s. If he continues to be a stupid moron off field, doing drugs, booze, missing training, having brain farts, it could be too risky to pick a player like that.

        • I reckon we should forgive and forget on this occasion. 21 year old kid having a bit of fun with no history that we know of or have proof to.

I actually think he has been great this year. I threw the bad season line out there because I am tired of arguing about his form. He is in the middle of one of those personal development years on and off the field. We will have a much clearer idea on how he is travelling when he comes back in 2 weeks. I agree that the never again is a very very big call!

85 average, 21 year old kid with improvement in him. Lock him n for me next year!!!

          • Totally agree mate. :)

          • Sorry Ridley, there was definitely some hyperbole with the never again line. To be honest I wanted to say point 1 and couldn’t think of a great point 2, but he has been very disappointing. While always doing enough to not be traded, he has just had no highlights. The first game against Melbourne was the worst for mine. In the 2nd half everyone got in on that scoring party, except for my friend Dusty.

I know some people picked both he and Robinson, but I never got on that train. They were similarly priced at the start of the year and the points difference is staggering.

For me it’s not never again, because a lot of things can change down the track, but I doubt I will consider him next year. He just seems to lack the accumulation skills needed to be a true DT star at the moment.
