Golden Stubby – Round 12

Voting is now open for the DT TALK Golden Stubby for Round 12. This coveted prize will be awarded to the player who excelled on the weekend, taking into account price, form, opponent and whatever else tickles your fancy!

This weeks nominations (collected by @WarnieDT through Twitter) are:

  • Dayne Zorko (140). Our mature age MID/FWD from Brisbane has shown us plenty over the last 5 weeks or so and with a mammoth 140, he is looking like more than just a cash cow… he could potentially be a F7 keeper.
  • Gary Ablett (148). He let us down last week, but Ablett was back bigger and better this week with 148 coming from 42 disposals and 4 goals… although he wasn’t number one on Vin’s Captains list, he would have made coaches happy who showed faith!
  • Nic Naitanui (136). The best of the Round 11 ruck pick ups. Will he smash out these score regularly, probably not… but that was a pretty sweet way for those starting the round with a new inclusion!
  • Scott Thompson (141). He had a massive break even and most coaches were scared by that… but if you jumped on him, you’d be up and about and not worrying about a price drop this week.
  • Nathan Grima (132). Our boy Narny smashed it this week. It’s great to see him back after injury. Could he be a consistent performer? Hmm… could be a better option that some in defence! Also… he is smashing in our DT TALK All-Stars league with some big scores of late!
Honorable Mentions: Brian Lake,Nick Dal Santo, Matthew Boyd and BRENDON FEVOLA for New Norfolk! 250+ DT points! Wow!

  • What a comprehensive victory for Zorko! Storming away with the poll!

He leaves with an awkward situation later in the year, with me having leave him or Martin on the bench, and on previous form, Zorko will get the gig in my 22.
