Hawks Intra-Club Audio ‘Commentary’
Roy, Calvin and Warnie sat themselves down in the North Launceston club rooms for audio commentary of the Hawthorn Football Club Intra-Club game held at Aurora Stadium… all with an AFL Dream Team focus. We are joined by a few mates, including Coach of North Launceston in the TSL, Zane Littlejohn.

Main things from the game.
Buddy was BOG. Spent a lot of time in midfield… unlikely to do that much during the season according to Jordan Lewis (we interviewed him afterwards, stay tuned for next DT TALK episode late this month).
Jordan Lewis was great early. Must consider as a MID/FWD. Said he would average 100… haha, why wouldn’t we believe him?! Top bloke too!
Cyril was awesome.
Gunston kicked 5 goals… looked great up forward. Strong marking.
Max Bailey, while not DT relevant this year, was sensational. Looked fantastic. Moving well… looking as agile as any big man in the comp.
Suckling… was sucky. While Birch was pretty awesome racking up plenty of points.
Hmmm….This makes my “Start with out Buddy” Plan seem even more risky! After listening to your discussion of Steel Beams I am seriously thinking starting Forward line of FrontBum, Beams, Lewis, Goodes, Plus some other guys (Maybe JBrown!).
Anyway, this will probably change 1000 times before round 1!!!!
Anything notable from Burgoyne? Thought he dominated the prelim last year and considering him in defence.

It was like listening to footy commentary, at the pace of test match commentary! Brilliant!
It was the perfect listening while I kicked up my feet on the couch and coffee table that I got off the side of the road, in a good suburb mind you.
It has been years since the shed and concrete out the back of the terrace house in Fitzroy, have heard such perfect Australian culture. Insights, taking the piss, even a well placed dick joke. To Good!

I believe its what Warnie calls Mitchell but I still have no idea the theory behind it! ;-)
I presume it is a play on words eg Mitchell sounds somewhat like Schnitzel ???

Ohhh c’mon now Simon.. I just bet your eager to start off 2012 with a dud pick like C.Bruce. Brynes maybe?? I bet Lewis is a ‘lock’ for little ol’e Maximus.
Not your average tagger….he tends to share tagging duties with Sewell and earns a fair bit of the ball. A good example was against Carlton where he and Sewell shared dutues on Judd. From memory he scored big that round and Judd was embarrassed.

Adam Pattison? Did he do anything?
Don’t know that he did a lot but is probably (not even including Roughy) forth in line for a ruck spot behind Bailey, Hale, Grimley (possibly Lowden as well if he can get fit). As a Hawks fan love the move of picking him up as a stop gap measure to guard against high injury count. Very little cost to the club and gave up very little (last rookie spot so only the Opportunity to pick up another rookie).
Unless he stars at VFL or huge injuries, can’t see him playing at all or lasting more then one year with the prospect of Kurt Heatherly coming next year as a basically free pick (international rookie).
Seriously looking at Gunston this season. A mid pricer who I’m confident will pay off.
