  • Can’t stand those guys that say “1st”. Loving having the rest this week with four Geelong players and a win last week taking me straight through to prelims. Question is, is it too risky to pick up the gun magpie and geelong players after this week…..who will be rested!

    • Also, who would you guys upgrade: Rioli or Mzungu…..and Stanley or Adcock?. Sucked in to those that got rid of Sandilands for Zmith who has a nippy nap this week.

      • No one good did that… I did Sandi to Vardy at rock bottom price with Petrie as my 2nd ruck and upgraded to Pendlebury, Broughton and O’Keefe with the money. Sucked in to those who kept Sandi..

        • Yea +1 :D.. And wtf is a nippy nap btw, haha??? And why would u upgrade Rioli. You woud upgrade to Rioli but not upgrade him. Coming of a 151 and plays gc in gf. I wouldn’t be touching Mzungu atm either. In some good form with a few consecutive tons

          • Bazza, thank you for reminding me why I never post on forums. Mzungu and Rioli are both on my bench so I’m not relying on their sometimes 100 point games and have 2 trades per week to use up to the GF. Rioli’s got 67, 78 and 70 in his last four scores before his 151…I guess that’s good form for your team.

          • You’re right guys….I mustn’t know what I’m doing, being in the top 3 % and all. Man I love forums, where do you guys hang out in real life?

        • Well done dickhead. Your awesome move meant you’ve got two rucks, both with byes in the finals, you got a 42 from Vardy last week and a 0 this week, instead of a 95 from Sandi (granted he’ll probably stub his toe again, but I’ve got cover). Not to mention you’ve now used 4 trades, one to get Vardy, and 3 to spend 300k on sideways trades to guys you should have already had at the start. Sucked in to me though eh.

          • Yeah obviously I’ve got Cox as well mate. Petrie was my 2nd ruck to cox, with Smith as 3rd… Last week was the only time in the whole season it didn’t go so well.

          • And sideways? dude you’re just making assumptions now.. I also had better premos from the start instead of those 3 such as Swan, Mitchell, Boyd instead of Pendles.. Stevie J, and Buddy over ROK and why would I have wanted Broughton from the start? You are a tool.

          • “awesome move dickhead” and you want to upgrade rioli

          • So what you’re saying is he would have been better off having Sandi rotting on the pine scoring 0’s for 6 or so weeks just so he can play him in the finals and save trades. Look at all the extra points he has gained overall mate by bringing in those guns. And not all of them were locks from the start anyway mate. I mean look at Broughton’s early season form.

          • I think the real reason why u never post on forums is because it ends up being you vs everyone else in the forum because of some of the stupid crap u come up with. And how can u trade a guy who is coming of a 150 and has Gold Coast in the grand final.. “good enough form for your team ” you reckon.. Yea well at least my team didn’t lose hundreds of points overall by keeping sandi for 6 weeks of 0’s.

          • Dude we came on here to check the AFL teams.. Same as you.. And I’m top 0% (which obviously doesn’t make sense but due to round I’m clearly top 0.5%) so if you’re going to use gloating to look good then I’ll throw some back at you.. Anyway, to actually give you advice because it seems you need it, hold Rioli, trade him next week if you need. He’ll be worth more money due to low break even and he needs to hit some serious form before the finals so he won’t be holding back and he isn’t injury troubled like he was when he got those scores. It’s hard to answer who you should upgrade though because no one has any idea on how the rest of your team looks which our answers would rely so heavily on. Also, not being a hero and looking like you think you’re better than everyone else would help you get your questions answered without much troubles. It seems you do that a lot or you wouldn’t have problems on forums like you apparently do.

          • Nah man, we have lives. Cool work trying to be a hero though. We’re just better at DT than you, no extra work, just downright better than you :)

      • lol :P.. Mate, top 3% is nothing to be bragging about on this site.. You have further proven your stupidity making a comment like that. Do you know some of the ranks of the guys on here??

        • I’m ranked in the top 0% :)

          • ^^^ I rest my case. Thank u big feller :P.. Where has Matt Henry gone??

          • Sorry guys. I just took a piss. It seems 3 minutes away from dream team is a life time for those ranked in the top 0%. I’m just a lowly fan going for a league win. You guys know there’s only one car right? I just took your advice guys and upgraded Sandi to Vardy which seems to be a hot move around here. Best of luck guys. Try to talk to some girls this weekend. It will change your life.

          • Girls?? Id rather score 150 from Swanny on the weekend then score some pussy. WTF is wrong with you.

      • I’m not sure why we’d be so badly off. Did you have 3 gun Rucks? Fritzzy?

Most of us had Petrie DPP.

Most of us were going for overall as well, it appears you are not, because keeping sandi was spaztarded move on your part if you were.

      • Matt Henry beat me in our qualifying final last week… *faceplam*

      • To answer your question Matt Henry, you could upgrade Mzungu to Stevie J or O’Keefe, the only viable upgrade options you have left for your fwd line (I don’t count Travis Cloke as a premium). OR you could take a risk and keep both and trade Riewoldt to Stevie J or O’Keefe meaning that you keep a DPP utility who is playing heavily in the midfield (Gu), while getting an advantage over shmucks like me who have no more trades and can’t offload Riewoldt’s underperforming, mopey, cry baby ass.

Save your backline trade for the GF and bring in Scotland for Stanley or Adcock if you can afford him.

Maybe just ask me next time you need trade advice eh? Forums aren’t made for your particular brand of sarcasm…

        • *think u made a bit of a mistake mate. I believe it should read forums aren’t made for your kind of stupidity. No sarcasm was involved here really mate. Just some dumbass comments really. But yeah directing his questions straight to u wouldn’t be a bad idea. Given some of the advice u gave him plus the dt knowledge he has already displayed I think u could put together a great team (Now that is what u call sarcasm). And you don’t count Cloke as a premium?? The guy is averaging 95 mate.. But I guess 95 wouldn’t be good enough for Matt henry’s team as he is looking at trading guys that are coming of 150’s. And how exactly would keeping gu and Rioli be taking a risk??

          • Hahaha… Baz, relax champ. I meant trading out Riewoldt would be the risk, you obviously misread that. Maybe don’t take things on here so seriously eh?

          • “To answer your question Matt Henry, you could upgrade Mzungu to Stevie J or O’Keefe, the only viable upgrade options you have left for your fwd line (I don’t count Travis Cloke as a premium). OR you could take a risk and keep both and trade Riewoldt”. With keep both being the key words there who exactly were you referring to when you were saying keep both because it looks to me like you meant Mzungu and Rioli. And me not take things so seriously?? It was your buddy matt henry who jumped straight down people’s throats after a little bit of criticism and some different opinions.

          • “Good. Use your aggressive feelings, boy. Let the hate flow through you.”

One who had much anger just before his death that he did not see coming…………may pay to focus on the game of winning this weekend.

      • Thanks for that Grain Fed Beef… Thanks a lot

        • Bit of humour to lighten the mood. Not directed at yourself. Agree there was some agro responses earlier that were not needed.

          • Maybe we should direct our attention to the AFL who has some of the jets on this site ranked top 0%. Doesn’t sound that great going into work on monday saying I smashed it on the weekend in DT, I’m now ranked in the top zero %.

        • Nah fair call, sloppy sentence structure on my part. Sorry about that.

    • Hey Matt Henry. You’re a douche. Btw YOU said 1st in case you didn’t notice. Twat.

  • J.Tippet in, Lower out.

    • Hell yeah!! Worse thing is that next year if you want to use J.Tippett’s DPP with Petrie or similar he’ll be a bit more expensive now that he’s getting a game.

      • We probably wont get either of Petrie or Tippet next year, too expensive and not good enough on both parts.

Huge call picking Petrie next year I reckon. He’s played FF most of the year, will probably lose DPP status for 2012.

        • @Mtooler. Hope you feeling better but still home to consider this dilemma.

How would you swap Lower for that’s less than $295k. Any thoughts on Dougherty (adelaide), brown (pies) or grundy. Back up for Gibbs next week. Not certain if I will trade this week given Lower is out (and will not drop in price but may be forced to). 1 trade to go……

          • Hey champ, Dougherty look the goods to me has a low BE and DPP status. I wouldn’t touch Grundy unless your aftera 70 score.

I’ve only got one trade left too. Im holding it for the GF week or a massive injury.

        • Do u reckon Ryder will be DPP next year? played alot of this year at full forward

          • Full Back too, not sure how strict it will be.

With no byes next year the starting teams we come up with will be crucial. Cant wait till 2012!

  • faarken lower.
    make me play c. howard…grrr

    • Howard was good last week vs the bombers and they are playing port this week…might go alright!

      • Yea Jezzalenko is right. Howard played well last week and smashed Lower’s pathetic 11. Even if Lower was playing if I had that decision it’d be Howard over Lower anyway.

  • Major Team Changes/Selections

    Car: NONE
    Hawks: NONE
    GCS: Zmith (rested)
    Ade: Knights (quad)
    WCE: NONE
    Ess: NONE
    NM: K Harper (Foll) ;)
    Freo: Broughton (C), Gu (F), Lower (DROPPED! :D )
    Coll: Didak (C)
    Bris: NONE
    Syd: NONE
    St K: NONE
    Port: as usual
    WB: Higgins (F)
    Melb: Sylvia (Foll)
    Rich: NONE

    • Sylvia on ball looks tasty and I might pick up Didak next week if he puts in a good performance this week as he won’t get rested (source: Mick Malthouse)

      • So Sylvia should finally have a really good game playing on the ball. That would be nice, I quite need him to perform this weekend since he will probably be up against a real premo from my opponent’s team.

        • I watched the WCE v Demons game last week and he looked very scratchy! Not good when you’re trying to renegotiate a new contract!

    • Harper and Sylvia have been named on the ball often, both spudding when doing so.

Nth Melb, Melb and Freo I’ve noticed are the teams that name their best starters and benches and then randomly allocate names with positions after 5pm Friday.

As if Mzugu and Barlow will play where listed. Sylvia named in the middle but always ends up forward.

  • bugger, needed bewick to get the call up this week, yes that’s how desperate i am

  • Surely Pendels will be rested next week…

    • Hopefully…I know heaps of people need him to play this week but for guys like me who have the week off, I would love him to be rested so there isn’t the fear of him being rested next week or GF week.

      • I would have liked him to have a rest this week… but alas.
I don’t think he’ll be on the plane to the west next week.

        • I was hoping the same with the week off give one of my guns the rest when it does not matter, but not making the trip to Perth was always the better option for him. I am still hoping for a late change but I don’t think there is much chance of that.

  • Should I trade out Stanley for a premo? WIth all the Gold Coast tall forwards out, he’s in the forward pocket…

    • I think it really depends on the premo.. Because I don’t know how many points you will really make from something like Stanley-Birchall but if it is Goddard, Suckling, Deledio or someone like that then yea it is probably worth it. What is your current defence and who do u have in mind??

      • Stanley has been playing forward recently. More physically solid and nimble than the GC fowards (Lynch, Smith etc all being disappointing). If you have trades there are upgrade options likes Suckling, Fishers etc.

  • Damnit Lower… That stuffs things up even more.

Play Gilbert, or do a double trade this week instead of next? Unfortunately double trade has to include Gibbs, and thats a big loss for this weekend…

Also, Brogan in? Didn’t see that coming. Hope they stick with Lobbe as well.

  • If only Stevie J was a dpp…

    • Yea would be great… A definate chance for dpp next year u reckon??

      • I hope so, it would seem logical.

But look how the new sub rule has affected midfielders… which midfield player has spent the most time fatting it up in the fwd line this year. Swanny, that’s who. There’s a reason to get excited about DPP!!!

    • he is dpp. switches betweem ruck and backline

  • Lower out makes my trading decisions for the week even easier. Was thinking Lower-Suckling all week as I can do it in 1 trade but was tempted to double trade and go Hibberd-Suckling so Lower can be used to cover Gibbs next week. But now it will definately be Lower-Suckles :D

  • $258.000 in the bank. I will probably upgrade Zac Smith to Goldstein.

Then I will have $129.600 in the bank.

Who do I upgrade and who to???(1 trade left)

Sylvia to anyone in FWD line, Mzungu to anyone in FWD line, Howe to anyone up to $349.800 in FWD line, Lower to anyone in BACK line, or Puopolo to anyone except Scotland in BACK line.

    HELP!!! Please reply!!!

    • Which line needs more attention??

    • Chappy and StevieJ if you don’t have them.

      • Chappy and Stevie J have a bye

        • There is no delete button i know.. Already thinking next week!LOL

          • lol thats cool mate.. Yea a delete button would be good :P I bet this Matt Henry bloke wishes there was a delete button with some of the crap he is posting.

    • Hold the trade if u can. Still a prelim and GF to go if u think u will be in it if u play those players which by the looks of thinks I’d say most should do ok.

      • i might not make it through this round. I think i should upgrade sylvia to cloke??? Any other moves I could do???

  • With lower out of the picture. I need to make a decision on my 7th Back. Its out of Nick Smith, Cam Pedersen and Daniel Talia. Leaning towards Talia but any input would be great.

Also picking forwards sucks. Do i still keep Yaz and Riewoldt on the field? Or do i do what i should have done last week and give Howe a go. Would have won all my leagues if i had of benched Roo. I know you should always back a premium but Roo against Swans Vs Howe against the Tigers. I also have Mckernan on the bench too but know ones that convincing to get me to put him on!! LOL – Watch him score a ton against the Suns now.

Still in 3 out of 5 leagues. And HammerheadS we will meet again in the SC league and i will exact my revenge!!! LOL

    • Yeah its a bit of a headache… Howe could very well outscore Sylvia (has done a few times) or NVolt playing Swans. But he could also pull a 20’s game again.

    • I’d back Voldt, if Mckernan scores 100 I am the biggest uncle of planet of the Apes monkeys there is!

  • 1 trade
56, 300 left in the bank
need someone in my forward line
    i have
franklin, Rooey 1 and 2, Darling, Mzungu, howe and McKernan
    what should i do

    • Not much there i don’t think. I’m not an expert though!!

    • If thats your starting forward list then you need to delete your team pronto!

    • List your starting 7 fwds please so we can help. there is no way you can have a fwd line so bad as the above.

    • Darling has to go he is the one that is scoring the least, that leaves you with $310,700, your options are

      J. Brennan he he is capable of pulling out a couple of tonnes but he is pretty inconsistent
Grundy he will score you 70 every week yippee
Didak he will be playing full games from now on and is probably worth a gamble given that you don’t have enough money for anyone else.

Didak for Darling would probably be the best trade, he was one of the best forwards in the comp and is long overdue to come good.

  • Which two of BROUGHTON (C vs NM @Etihad), ADCOCK (HB vs Coll @MCG), HEPPELL (I/C vs WCE @Patersons) or POO (B vs Car @Etihad)

Which two of SYLVIA (Foll vs Rich @MCG), the GU (F vs NM @Etihad) or I SMITH (C vs Car @Etihad)

Currently I’m think Broughton (named in the midfield) and Heppell although he may be given the vest. In the fwds, I’m thinking Sylvia (on ball against the Tigers) and I Smith but he’s playing Carlton who are tough to score against…

  • WILL HEPPELL GET THE VEST? I’m worried as he’s named last on the I/C and is also due for a rest…

  • Man am I sick of Knights getting injured

  • Gonna have to put the Poo on the field for Lower and then get rid of Lower next week with a double trade to remove Gibbs as well. That will leave no trades left.

  • Does anyone know any of J tippets stats it’s either play him or L Keefe

    • Tippet’s first game, I don’t know about his NEAFL record. He’s at FB and I expect the ball to be coming in a bit to him. Who knows.

    • Keefe

Tippett is pretty likely to go out and score a 20

      • J Tippet is going to be more focused on dropping the shoulder into the FF he is playing on that getting kicks. Apparently he owes him a few clips behind the ear……..

  • Birchall or Broughton?

  • This is my team for this week barring late withdrawals.

Backs – Gibbs, Lids, Birchall, Adcock, Goddard, R. Murphy, Talia

Mids – Swan, Pendles, Boyd, Judd, Redden, Mitchell

    Rucks – Sandi and Cox

Forwards – Buddy, Brennan, Goodes, ROK, Higgins, Yarran, Howe

If they all hit their average i should score 2100+ which will win the only league i’m on this week!!

EX- Sunday Roaster is going down!!!!

  • So who is Kane cornes going to play for next year ? Would be a walk up starter in any side.. Except for port it seems ?? I would be mega pissed of if I were him !!

    • Collingwood will probably pick him up and get even better. I hate them and the way they are good at football.

  • Suckling or Fisher for Stanley.

    Already got Lids,Gods,Scotland,Gibbs,Adcock,Broughton

    Or anyone else for Stanley?

    • Suckling, and you are buggered next week by the way

      • how many trades?

You need to get out Gods,Scotland next week, do you also have the brownlow man

      • Nice defence but that is true. Maybe u could work out a way to keep Stanley to cover one of Gibbs or Scotland next week. Depends on dpp’s to mids that u have and trades I guess though. If u have plenty to sideways one then u are laughing :P

        • I have 5 trades.

Planning to trade Chapman this week as well

          I have- Goodes,Fyfe,Riewoldt,Johnson,Howe,I Smith,Sylvia,Talia and Franklin

Who to get for Chapman can get anyone.

  • Nathan Ablett struggles just quietly…

    • C’mon, how many premiership forwards can you get for that price at this time of year. He is a steal ;)

  • Evening all.

2 trades left. $77k in bank. 4 Geelong players. Have planned to cover 3 of them well and make 1 trade (Bartel).

Current mids: Boyd, Pendlebury, Redden, Thompson, Mitchell

Considering: Rockliff, Thomas, Priddis, Shiels, Ablett, Barlow….who gets the gig?!

    • Also tossing up:

-Puopolo v Robert Murphy (vs Port) on the field?

      -Lobbe or Bailey?

    • Howdy Tex. Pity you can’t afford Swan, but Ablett would look mighty fine in your midfield.

You would have to go Murphy vs Port, and Lobbe is playing well at the moment. My picks but your decision.

      • Don’t worry, if I had one extra trade I would have done a downgrade/upgrade and got Swan in asap! As it is I really can only afford one this week with a Petrie ruck upgrade (need him to cover Johnson this week) next week.

But yes, I’m leaning towards Murphy, but can’t decide the Bailey/Lobbe one.

As per my post below, Ablett possibly not unique enough in the next few weeks but that 150 v the Crows last time is playing on my mind!!

        • Barlow is a boss. But I suppose he’s more of a risk with Mundy returning. I still would go him or Rocky.

    • ablett murphy and bailey :)

  • Used my last trade…Heppell to Suckling..I do have the week off but given the projected price fluctuations with only $18,000 left, was now or never to afford the swap. Play Nick Maxwell in the prelim. probably…interesting to see if he has trades left. Good luck to you all over the weekend!

  • Tex…Rocliff

    • Cheers, certainly a strong contender. Only issue is a few of the teams I might play over the next few weeks have him so may need someone a bit more unique. But he’s on my list still because he’s had a ripper DT season.

  • try..Rockliff

  • Nick Riewoldt to Ricky Pettard anyone?

    • little bit of media for Riewoldt last few days..self inflicted mostly..expect a good one from him..or die trying..

  • heppel to birchall?? or waste of a trade?? 3 left and only gibbs to cover next week (if i win)

    • not really Essendon don’t travel too well you may as well do it you have 3 trades left, use 1 per week now.

  • (3 trades) Chappy, SJ and Knights has forced my hand into trading in Didak. I might be what I need to get some glory this week. The options to trade out for him are Krak, Prestia or Harris. I’m leaning towards Harris because I want as much cover as I can. Opinions?

    • Seeing how Harris has retired, it’s probably not the worst idea to trade him out over guys who haven’t…..

      • Trading out retired players is a good idea. 894 teams still have Fev hahahaha, these teams should be automatically deleted.

  • Wow. J Tippett in for Z Smith. My usual emergency has th bye, so now my 4th ruck basement downgrade gets a game to keep my dream of avoiding a donut for the season alive.

    Lol.

    • no trades?

      • Nope. Was pretty tight for making the 8, so I pulled the trigger and brought in Daisy for Cross and Didak for someone else. Has worked out so far.

  • birchall or bock? im leaning towards bock but at etihad birchall might kill it…

    • I’d go Brichall he is a lot more consistant, Boc has been in great form for the last 3 rounds but he is still capable of pulling out 50 odd scores Avg for season 79 BE 52
Birchall avg for the season is 89 BE = 82
Both good picks Boc more of a risk I would think.

  • Backs: Gibbs Goddard Fisher Hepple Suckling Broughton Adcock -(Stanley Otten Talia)
Mids: Swan Pendles Boyd Redden Montagna Hodge ( Chappy J Selwood Bewick)
Rucks: Cox Bailey ( Smith Lobbe)
Forwards: Fyfe Goodes Buddy Cloke Reiwoldt Krak Mzungu ( Stevie J Howe Richardson)
23,100 and 1 trade left. I am playing a very very good team this week and trying to get through to the preliminary final. I need some help to get through this week. Lots of good coaches here thanks for the advice.

  • I am fielding a pretty strong side this week considering Enright, Chapman and Stevie J are out.
Backs Gibbs, Goddard, Heppell, Deldeio, Suckling Broughton, Poo (Enright Jacobs Toy)
Rucks Ryder and Cox (Smith, Vickery)
Mids Pendles, Swan, Boyd, Judd, Thompson, Ablett (Chapman Perstia Callinan)
Forwards – Fyfe, pavlich, Franklin, Little roo, Big Roo, mzungu, smith (Stevie J, Howe Prestia)

I usually have Chappy in the Forward line and either Zung, or smith as emerg in the mids. Giving Thompson the big C this week to lighten the load on Swan.

I have the bye this week so I am not to fazed on how I score, $73,900 in the bank and probably going to trade out Judd next week for Barlow and then Ryder for Goldstein the week after. I am still waiting for Pendles to have a rest though. I only have 2 trades left so I might have to change that plan later.
