  • Will the Cock rip it up in the beach partay?

  • I know he isnt in yet but i cant wait for BEN JACOBS to get out there. he had 29 possies in just 67 mins game time last week!

  • Fuuck me my eliminator opponents team is -$ 44,000 in salary cap and has 21 out of 33 players out.. this bloke is seriously casing the car…

  • Im going to trade D.Swallow to either Wallis or ILES,

Extra 18k if I bring in Wallis and I have hardly any left over cash, what you think?

    • 1.3k rem. salary atm

    • Do you REALLY need to trade swallow? He’s still got cash to earn.

If I had to choose I would get on Illes

  • Is anyone trading in Ellard this week?

    • He’s gone 112 and 100 last 2 games, BE of -9. At a lick under 2fiddy I reckon a lot of people will pick him up.

Don’t really know his DT history?

  • Any one else gunna bring in Xavier Clarke next week??

  • Who should I field out of…

    Lower, Duigan, Stanley, Toy

    and

    Tapscott, McKernan, Matera, Pitt

    Two toughies I reckon!

    • dead easy desicion !!

Lower (he’s starting in the middle)
Tapscott (he’s playing half back this week instead of back pocket)

do your research son … that’s right i did it for you !!

      LOL ;)

      • Haha, I actually already have them both on the field but you know how things go…the closer it gets to lockout, the more you start to question your decisions!

    • thats a nice problem to have, i have to play tapscott, mckernan and matera to avoid a doughnut

  • Wallis or illes its doing my head in. wallis probably has stiffer competition for his spot, although he is about 18k cheaper and doesnt have a bye for ages. illes has a bye in two weeks and is in a crap side that has massive changes nearly every week. decisions decisions

  • Didn’t know who to go with for captain this week but I read this preview:

    http://www.thisisafl.com/blog/2011/05/round7-dream-team-preview/

and went with Bartel, come on jimmy!! Feeling nervous for eliminator :O

    • Im locking in Jimmy aswell! The eliminator is a funny game in 09 in made the final 64 yet finished 110,000 odd overall… last year i was knocked out after only 6 rounds and i finished1,400 overall.

      • Good lad! I’ve found the thisisafl.com forums pretty helpful as well.

It feels so weird not being able to rely on pendles and swan to get me across the line, all up to my boy jimmy!

  • might be a stupid late-night idea of mine, but if I have the money (which I do), is it worth trading Riewoldt to Chappy. Chappy’s about as cheap as he’ll get, Riewoldt will only go further down in price in a team looking flat and deflated in the near future at least. Or am I being stupid and possible wasting a trade?

    • That is one of the most common trades of the week. i also think its a mistake. Volt should still average alright. if you take out last weeks game (very wet shithouse conditions) he hasnt had that bad of a start. i think you are better off waiting a couple of weeks and trading in 1 of your cash cows, getting 180k odd and upgrading a tapscott or darling to chappy! its better to increase your premiums than sideways trade.

    • thats what i did, Riewoldt is in shit form while chappy is tearing it up. Reiwolt will go down to around 300k, if he comes good ill jump back on him after his bye getn ridda darling or tappscott. but if he doesnt come good then my swap for chappy paid off

  • Looking to bring in either Marc Murphy or Scott Thompson. I’m goin for league win so i’m thinking thompson as his next bye is a multi-bye round so it wont affect the league but he can get real inconsistant however murphy looks the goods but misses out the preliminary final for DT. who should i go with?

    • Sounds like you’d prefer Murphy. If you save enough trades then you can always swap him out for another premium by Round 23!

  • i can afford any back but am considering really between adcock or enright?

    perhaps scott stevens.

    thoughts on which to inject?

    • I wouldn’t touch Scott Stevens. His migranes are concussion-related so no idea when he’ll return next. Plus never been a big DT’er to date.

Enright is more consistant, and less injury-prone. Adcock is on fire at the mom but is of the Higgins school of soft-tissue issue.

  • WELL ITS DONE!!!!!

Midnight Madness. I had to trade now as i wont be anywhere near a computer till Saturday.

I think i will be OK. But you never know. Already been burned 3 times with long term injuries.

    Heres what i did Merrett>Thompson and Libba>Redden

My Team sucks but i would like some comments, laugher even. Cheers

Backs: Gibbs, Goddard, R. Murphy, Grimes, Lower, Thompson, Puopolo(Toy, Pedersen, Duigan)

Mids: Judd, Boyd, Redden, Heppell, Curnow, Swallow(Swan, Pendlebury, Harris)

    Rucks: Cox, Sandilands(Smith, Derrickx)

Forwards: Buddy, Nick, Goodes, Yarran, Darling, Tapscott, Matera(Krakouer, Higgins, McKernan)

I plan next week to do a double trade again. Duigan>Hibberd and Higgins>Chappy.

Only coming in the top 7%. Aiming to be top 1% by end of year and take out the Grand Final over a dear friend…Bahahahahahahah. Nothing better!!!!

    • You were a couple of weeks behind on Redden, but he is still gonna be a gem IMO.

Pederson must be giving you the shits huh? How many trades do you have left now?

If you are gonna wait next week to move on Higgins then you might as well hold onto him and cash out one of those rooks like Matera or McKernen, surely Higgins holds a place over those two? He’s ave. 100 and should return in the next fortnight.

      • Yeah im screwed again with trades. Im a trader from way back even though this year has been my best year so far. I missed Curnow, Lil Libba and Tapscott so used 3 trades there. I had I.Smith, Prestia and Conca. Also in that second week i traded out Connors for none other than MY MATE Suban. And MY EVEN BETTER MATE Coad made sure it was an enforced trade the next week. I dont want to tell you about my trades last week, if i did no-one would think i take this seriously. So as of now 14 is the magic number i have left. Screwed. I actually do have a plan and can still pull it off as long as there are no more injuries. If that make any sense??

Im also got a feeling everyone jumping off Hacksaw will disappointed. When Gibbs does what he should be doing, Duigan will be the run out of the backline along with Yarran. Carlton need Bower and Joseph and then my friend the Blue Boys will shatter the Pies dreams of Back to Back.

Written by an unbias Carlton Supporter!

  • This week i have $44 in the bank and need to upgrade team with a few magpie guns out. Thinking of:

    Dawes->J Riewoldt
    Goodes->Chapman

    Any reason not to?

Also, anyone know what’s the story with Bewick?

    • How many trades have you got? Also are you after league or overall?

      • I have 18 trades left and priority is league…I also don’t want to lose in first round of Eliminator (currently ranked 20,518).

        • Dawes to J Roo not too bad, although he will hurt you in some games. Maybe try and find someone more consistant.

Goodes to Chappy a bit sideways, id ride that one out, Goodes will come…Goodes? In the 2nd half of the year.

Considering Fyfe? In a great team and this is definately his breakout. Ride the wave my friend!

          • good advice, but i need to trade dawes to avoid a doughnut and jack will only get more expensive. might just keep goodes…thanks.

i already have fyfe…tipping he’ll go well this week.

          • i couldn’t help myself…i traded goodes for chapman. we shall see…

  • What do you reckon guys…

Lower, Stanley or Duigan as my 7th on-field back this week?

    • toss a coin…twice! But, personally I just like Lower

    • Lower on past history. Duigan = trade. Stanley = Inconsistant.

      • i would keep duigan a week and trade next week with the carlton bye

        • My delema is having 5 carlton players. Duigan this week, then maybe Yarran next, will see my opponent in league.

  • who should i trade out for chapman? yarran or higgins?

  • Does anyone know anymore about Matt Sucklings knee injury? How long will he be out for? Also Shaun Higgins whats the deal with him is he going to miss more games. This is his second week out. Can’t find any info.

  • Pedersen a change, in for Hansen. Named at CHF, hope he doesn’t stay there too long for his scorings sake.

  • was planning all day to trade callum ward out for mitch wallis, ward hasnt done enough to really stay in the team, so I might as well free up some cash and get wallis in to grow. Now at the last minute I think Iles is the better choice. Wallis is in a team that has a fair few injuries, do many of you think he will hold that spot though? Iles seems to be in good form and should hopefully hold his spot? I’m still considering wallis next week but given he has that 10 point first round he shouldn’t rise too much.

    Thoughts?

    • Iles had an injury interrupted pre season. Won their b & f last year. Mature age.Seems to be getting into stride.
I am trading him in for Libba. Will rise 30k plus this week. Wallis will still be a good cash cow imo, but may not get as many games as Iles.
