Official AFL Injury List: Ahead of Round 2

A habit to get into is checking the AFL injury list on Tuesdays (and monitoring what else might be going on throughout the week). A lot of ‘rookies’ go under the radar here, so keep your eyes peeled. Only look at trading premiums if they are 5+ weeks, but early on in the season it should be alright due to decent bench cover.

  • You boys beat afl.com and Superfooty in releasing the injury list. Good stuff!

  • George horlon-smith is out? Damn…

  • I thought Lake played in the VFL last week? If he did, why is he still listed as 1 week?

    • Injury list at sportal.com.au is slightly different….for example, under Western bulldogs it lists Lake, and Gilbee as test, and Easton wood as 6 weeks..

  • Brodie Smith and Shaun McKernans job security looks better ! Porplyzia going for 2nd opinion after
ist doctor said full shoulder recon. (season over)

  • What’s up with Hibberd? Some people said he was injured some said he just didn’t make the cut

    • He just didn’t make the cut mate.
Have a look on the Essendon FC website and the conference Jimmy held after the match saying that Hibberd was very unlucky not to make the best 22 for the 1st round.

  • Ben jacobs is listed at 3-4 weeks. It was indefinate before. Hopefully he does play in a few weeks. Good downgrade target in 6-8 weeks

  • Who would u guys trade in for JB? ROK looks like an obvious choice or take a punt on a midranger or even a rookie?

    FWD Line is:

Goodes, Stevie J, Volt, Boomer, ?Brown?, Yarran, Knights, Darling, Matera, Richardson

    • I don’t have JB, but if it was me I’d probably wait until this rnd is over if you have cover (given Knights bye you will need at least two of the rooks playing) and see how the forwards are going. Might be able to pick one that is looking good cheap but that is going to rise in price significantly after rnd 3. Yeah you could get them now but you don’t know what their rnd 2 score will be. Two rnds still not a great indicator but better than 1.

    • Take a punt on Brennan. Could flourish at a new club.

    • if you want to be unique – N.Fyfe

    • Thanks guys, gr8 suggestions

  • Yeah i’d be going with ROK or Cyril. It felt like a bit of a punt for some reason when i selected Cyril up forward. Didnt seem to be much buzz around him this preseason – but i’m stoked with his 100 this weekend considering he didnt even kick a goal. Having said that ROK could be a great choice if he stays fit. Will be a much better player than last season.
