AFL Dream Team Grand Final Fixture Announced

The AFL has finally worked out what is going on in Round 22 this year – the round of AFL Dream Team Grand Finals. What is interesting is that there could be some games run and won by Saturday night!

With Richmond, Port Adelaide, North Melbourne and Melbourne all playing on Sunday, there are quite a few teams where no players are in their best 22. I for one only have Colin Sylvia in my team from any of those clubs (apart from some bench fodder like Webberley).

If you’ve got no one on Sunday, then you are looking pretty good as these are teams who aren’t going to make the 8 – in the AFL’s opinion.

Friday August 27
Fremantle v Carlton at Subiaco Oval, 6.40pm (Channel 7)

Saturday August 28
Geelong Cats v West Coast at Skilled Stadium, 1.10pm (Fox Sports)
Hawthorn v Collingwood at the MCG, 2.10pm (Network Ten)
Adelaide Crows v St Kilda at AAMI Stadium, 3.40pm (Fox Sports)
Western Bulldogs v Essendon at Etihad Stadium, 7.10pm (Network Ten)
Brisbane Lions v Sydney Swans at the Gabba 7.10pm (Fox Sports)

Sunday August 29
Richmond v Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium, 2.10pm (Channel 7)
Melbourne v North Melbourne at the MCG, 4.40pm (Fox Sports)

What are the AFL doing scheduling Richmond to a Sunday game! The tigers deserve a longer rest than that before their first final! They should have held off until round 20 when there is a clearer picture of who is playing finals! Bit premature doing it now! Defeats the purpose of the floating round!

Currently if i have the same team going into round 22, doubt it, i will have 2 on friday, 20 on saturaday, and none on sunday. Might tape some foxtel games and watch them on sunday instead f the boring game like north vs melbourne.

Harvey and Hmac for me. Harvey could carve it up, especially if both have nothing to play for and the Dees don’t tag him. Hmac – well he’s only just going DTwise but I never trade in the rucks.

no one on sunday for me. in fact, only 4 of my best 22 are in bottom 8 teams (waters, cox, stanton, rockliff). but my whole bench are in bottom 8 teams lol

I acquired Brad Green last week with my Barlow trade and now I will have to keep my eyes on him, but if Melbourne are any chance of playing finals by that time of year they (Sylvia and Green) will play for sure.

If Melbourne is out of contention with the last game to play, I could easily see one or both players rested.

Does anyone else think that Geelong may look at resting a gun or two in the final game playing West Coast?

Even though it might be a must win for them in order to win the Minor Premiership, they should still flog the Eagles by at least 8-10 goals. Just thinking if Gaz, Chappy or any of the other DT guns would possibly be given the week off…

  Very unlikely IMO as you want blokes playing last minor round game leading into finals, otherwise its 2 weeks between games which is not ideal. At home too so no travel which is easier for the players.
  Reckon anyone who misses round 22 will have a genuine injury.

I’ve got Hmac and Harvey on the Sunday, if the ladders close and North can make the 8 from a win here, I could be tempted to risk it all with the C on Harvey!
