Chop’s Chopping Block: Round 9

Whether you are an under-performing player, an injured player or you are one of these medical staff wankers that continue to put injured players on the field. You are all eligible to be chopped, and chances are if you continue to annoy me more than seeing that Jessica Watson girls face on the TV, then you will get the chop! Below is a list of players that are well within my sights and they should be on the outer of your team if you are unlucky enough to have them.

Leon Davis– OMG, what a turn around from the year that Neon had in 2009. Last year he averaged 99.1 ppg and was an absolute machine, this year he is as pitiful as sailing a pink boat not quite all the way around the world, with an average of 63.6 ppg. Last week he scored 38 points and looks as interested as an anorexic person going through the McDonalds drive thru. Somebody said to me the other day that Leon Davis was good value, I hope they meant when he was on the piss, because there is no value in someone that hates getting the footy. Neon have a look at yourself, on the upside, if you don’t have him, he’ll be as cheap as a platinum PS3 game soon. Keep an eye in his form.

Options:Let’s be honest, if you have paid good money for this guy you wont trade him. If you don’t have him, keep an eye on his scores and if he finds his form of old, consider it!

Jonathan Brown – I love the Brown-dog and I am sure that if I met him in the pub I would buy him as many beers as he liked, either through respect or dead set fear for my own life if I didn’t. BUT! If you are only on one leg (which is still debatable, maybe 1/2) then have a rest big gun. All you do is bring your price down so all those scabs that didn’t get you at the start of the year can get you in now. After averaging 115 pts in his first 4 games, to only average 62.6 pts in his last 5 games. I love the DOG but have a few weeks off Browny, the damage may be done but it’s sad seeing you run around not 100%.

Tadhg Kennelly -This Irish Gigger, gigged when he should have jagged on the weekend and went down. Extremely unfortunate for those that have had him from the start (sucked in) but he will have to go now. He is suppose to be out for a month which is an awkward time, but I would trade this guy out quick smart.

Zac Dawson- I know what everyone is thinking, why have you mentioned Zac Dawson. Well, anybody that plays for the entire game and only manages to get a touch in the last 90 seconds of the game deserves a mention. Great year last year Zac, but seriously… give it up…. If you have him in your team, clench your fist and direct it squarely into the bottom of your chin. Move it in an upward motion and make contact with your chin…..

Hi everyone,

i really need your help because i don’t know which direction to take…

here are the details of my team:

Bank: $460k
Trades: 11

DEF: Hodge, Enright, Duffield, Carazzo, Malceski, H. Shaw, Maguire EMRG: Nason & Webberly
MID: Swan, Boyd, J. Selwood, Pendlebury, Mitchell, Barlow EMRG: Shuey & Stevenson
Rucks: Cox, Hille EMRG Warnock & Roughead
FWD: Franklin, ROK, Giansiracusa, Podsiadly, Gumbleton, Hitchcock, Rockliffe EMRG: Brennan & Fyfe

This has been my line-up for the past 2 weeks and it’s giving me a decent score of between 2000-2100.

As you guys can see, my Forward structure needs a lot of work as i have 3 rookies starting (Pods is a keeper!)

My question is:
1. Should i trade Nason out for either a premium of Gilbert/Gilbee/Mackie? or should i leave it as it is? I would feel more comfortable knowing i have 7 definite keepers as i feel Maguire is on and off.

2. Or should i downgrade Nason for a rookie, gain more money in the bank and fix up my forward line?
(i plan on trading in Adam Goodes for Scott Gumbleton this week).

3. Should i keep Brennan on my team and wait for his return? or trade him out for a premium?

  Next week go Rocky to Pav and Hitchy to Sylvia (you could do the Hitchy trade the week after to utilise his prices rise).

    hmm yeh, i do plan on bringing in Pav as soon as i think his price has fallen enough to start rising again.
    I might go Nason to Gilbert and have Maguire as bench cover.
    Then Gumbleton to Goodes this week.
    
    and the weeks ahead, bring in Pav and another premium forward.
    
    i’m not totally sold on Sylvia’s form though.
    
    Do you guys think he’ll start playing like the gun he was last season?

  If this is true I’ll be wrapped. Was all over him until 30 minutes before lockout when I decided to call the double trade off and to save my trades.

hey all wondering if i should trade out Gram or hold on. at the moment im starting nason and should have Bower back next week. I am looking to straight swap him for Hargrave or Mackie
