Chop’s Chopping Block: Round 9

Whether you are an under-performing player, an injured player or you are one of these medical staff wankers that continue to put injured players on the field. You are all eligible to be chopped, and chances are if you continue to annoy me more than seeing that Jessica Watson girls face on the TV, then you will get the chop! Below is a list of players that are well within my sights and they should be on the outer of your team if you are unlucky enough to have them.

Leon Davis– OMG, what a turn around from the year that Neon had in 2009. Last year he averaged 99.1 ppg and was an absolute machine, this year he is as pitiful as sailing a pink boat not quite all the way around the world, with an average of 63.6 ppg. Last week he scored 38 points and looks as interested as an anorexic person going through the McDonalds drive thru. Somebody said to me the other day that Leon Davis was good value, I hope they meant when he was on the piss, because there is no value in someone that hates getting the footy. Neon have a look at yourself, on the upside, if you don’t have him, he’ll be as cheap as a platinum PS3 game soon. Keep an eye in his form.

Options:Let’s be honest, if you have paid good money for this guy you wont trade him. If you don’t have him, keep an eye on his scores and if he finds his form of old, consider it!

Jonathan Brown – I love the Brown-dog and I am sure that if I met him in the pub I would buy him as many beers as he liked, either through respect or dead set fear for my own life if I didn’t. BUT! If you are only on one leg (which is still debatable, maybe 1/2) then have a rest big gun. All you do is bring your price down so all those scabs that didn’t get you at the start of the year can get you in now. After averaging 115 pts in his first 4 games, to only average 62.6 pts in his last 5 games. I love the DOG but have a few weeks off Browny, the damage may be done but it’s sad seeing you run around not 100%.

Tadhg Kennelly -This Irish Gigger, gigged when he should have jagged on the weekend and went down. Extremely unfortunate for those that have had him from the start (sucked in) but he will have to go now. He is suppose to be out for a month which is an awkward time, but I would trade this guy out quick smart.

Zac Dawson- I know what everyone is thinking, why have you mentioned Zac Dawson. Well, anybody that plays for the entire game and only manages to get a touch in the last 90 seconds of the game deserves a mention. Great year last year Zac, but seriously… give it up…. If you have him in your team, clench your fist and direct it squarely into the bottom of your chin. Move it in an upward motion and make contact with your chin…..

Im most pissed off with dne swan who i got last week for mckenzie. I thought “why not put a big C on him, give him some responsibility. Surely calvin cant be serious when heis not in the top 5 captains. ” But what do you he was right and my ussal capt. BARNACLE BARTEL got a whopping 123. Thanx Swannie…

  sandilands effort was a joke, given he has about 17feet and 10 years experience playing the game over Mike Maple leaf Pyke. Pyke played pretty good for a bloke who was up against a giant and if you look at the fact it was sandilands lowect score this year, Pyke has done even better!!

    Mate he was playing at the SCG… A half decent roost from an Auskicker would go from one 50m arc to the other, so Sandi was always going to be overlooked apart from the stoppages which he dominated with 35 hitouts.

  hille should never have been reported in the first place.. hes been reported 3 times and let off 3 times. this just says he hard at the ball and umpires keep wrongly penalise him. the way footy is going you will be barely be able to touch the opposition before you get reported. the suspension of mumford after his brilliant tackle on ablett was one of the worst decisions ive ever seen. considering ablett is so hard to tackle and such an important player, mumford couldn’t have done any better with that tackle… yet stupidity wins out and the MRP create another RIDICULOUS precedent.

Lost my first league game by 30 points because of;

Captain Sandilands – Had it on Bartel all week until the last 5 minutes before lock out.
Lewis Stevenson pulling his heart muscle and had no E for him. Could have DPP’d and taken Davis’ 32 or Hams’ 45 instead of Stevensons’ 0.
Opponent had Hille – Highest score this year
Opponent had Hayes – Highest score this year

I mean C’mon. If any one of these four things had gone my way I would have been right. I was worried about last weeks game and killed my opponent by 200 points. This time I was experimenting and openly exposed my starfish for any passerby to help themselves.

Never ever again.

I want to chop almost half my damn team after this week for pathetic underperforming!!!
There were some pretty average performances but my whole frakkin forward line was what got me my worst score of the year – Pods top score on 85 followed by Gia (79), ROK (76), Daisy (76), Hall (56), Betts (43) and Browny (37).
I know that some of the boys there are erratic but they’re not allowed to all play super crap on the same week.

Still says 4 weeks on injury list. Missing out on too many points with him on the bench. Could do him-R O’Keefe and play Balla and upgrade Martin to Swanny/Hayes/Montagna. Thoughts?

  I’m in almost the exact same situation. I’m thinking of downgrading Brennan to Playfair then turning one of Martin or Bastinac to Dal Santo, probably get Bastinac coz I like Martin’s job security more. Can afford any mid but will use the money I save on Dal to turn Tadgh into a gun.

as a result i now have him broughton and kenelly sitting on the pine (hodge, goddard, enright maguire hunt and weberrley on the field)

Ive got a hard decision to make

Ive chopped scully and bastanic and now got $501 000 for a midfield upgrade this week and I cant choose between 2:

Montagna Pros- Normally a better scorer than dal santo, down $69 000
Dal santo: Pros- down $80 000, awesome value, can used extra $120 000 for and upgrade later

What you guys think, which would be a better choice?

Just had the coolest exprience. Logged on just then and discovered I had drawn my eliminator . I didnt realize because the live scores had counted my emergency. I then looked at my season score to date and it was about 100 higher than my opponent. Thus the eliminator dream lives on. I was also lucky I traded Higgins for Goodes during the week to avoid the donut. Luckiest shit ever!

  ziebell/duncan to goodes? Downgrade someone then Goddard for Webberly? Maguire to Scotland? White to Harbrow/Hargrave? Lots of options, but you look in an alright position…. maybe even not use any and then thy to pick up some guns just before finals..

Want to get ziebell and staker out of my team.

Thinking Ziebell —-> Goodes/ROK and Staker ——> 77k Rookie

Then a week or so after hoping that Nic Nat gains 10k+ and Sandi Loses 10k and nbring him in.

Team is generally set after these 3 with 5 premmie defenders + Mcloed, Waters and Davis or Webberly, premmies all through the mids, but Forwards looking weak, hence these trades.

Major problem = 6 trades left after those three. Am winning my league comfortably atm, but still in the eliminator.

so yeah, not sure whether to go this week or wait another. Depends on what rooks are floating around methinks.

  oh, and brown is an option though I wont be trading him in until he shows that he’s over his injury and prepared to cop the 20k+ price rise because of it

      yeah i just checked, its about 120 so depending on how many trades you have left, for example if this is the last trade you plan to make for a few weeks then i would get him in now for the extra points, he will be cheaper next week though and allows you to have a look at any other forward guns.

Is anyone thinking of trading out the Brown Dawg for Playfair? Is it worth it? Whats Playfair’s job security like and will Brown start scoring 90′s again soon?

  Not for Playfair I wouldn’t think. A bit sideways from the point of view that Brown’s inconsitent and Playfair’s no good and has poor job security. Brown for a gun if you want to get rid of him.
