Hawthorn’s Luke Hodge Chats With DT TALK
Today, DT TALK met with Luke Hodge at Aurora Staduim. Off camera we chatted about a few DT issues.
Hodgey said… (but not quoted 100%)
- Wade Skipper is a lock for round 1 for the Hawks if Renouf has not returned, although Renouf is recovering well, but Skipper still is a good pick!
- Liam Shiels is training the house down and is a massive favourite of the Hawks coaches and is a sure thing to start Rd 1.
- Clinton Young is very unlikely to return early in 2010 and is struggling a little, so look for him to return early/mid season.
- Rick Ladson is also in the same boat as Young, but in a better position and should return quicker, but unlikely for Rd 1.
- Xavier Ellis is having abig pre-season and says he always get big scores… but we’re not sure if he just told Warnie that to screw him over again!

Esssendon Intra club match report has come out, with Prismall and Mcveigh “impressing general managers.”
Others who impressed:
“The two-hour hit-out saw a number of players putting their hands up for contention for a berth against West Coast with Patrick Ryder, David Hille, Angus Monfries and Jason Winderlich all looking impressive.”
I’m going to the Brisbane V Dogs pre-season match. Plus despite being a Brizzy fan I’m going out to my local footy oval in a week to meet the Bulldogs players as the are doing some team thing with my footy club. I’ll hopefully find out some information for you guys
BTW when will the new Episode be up?
Hoping to get the episode up tomorrow. Have a thing to film tonite. Then we’ll try to finish editing in the morning.

ladson out then, was going to take him out if he didn’t feature in nab cup anyway. does anyone know how garland is travelling? from memory he was just coming into some dt form last year before injury?
Garland only played one game last year. He scored 74 though. I wouldn’t get too excited about him. Only now just started sprinting and kicking, still not training with the main group. Melbourne have a surplus of decent tall backman so he’s not going to be rushed back.

I may be completely wrong, but I had the impression that Hodgey will miss the first or first couple of rounds of the home and away series from being reported last year??.. Can anyone comfirm this?

Had Buckley in my side over Ladson in the backline until the NAB Cup just because. Now Bucks will likely stay
Simon Buckley isn’t in the pies best 22. Would need a huge nab cup to break into the side.

Why the hell would We want to change the Australian flag. Your answer Can only be one thing The union Jack. The game that you worship was invented By an Australian man with ENGLISH born parents, who spent alot of his younger years in English schools before coming back to Australia.

ladson is very good value but not playing round 1, does anyone know when he is he expected to play? also beau waters is dirt cheap aswell is he worth a punt with all the injuries his had as he might be a money maker haha?
