NBL Dream Team
With the AFL dream team starting to wind up, the NBL one has started. Now I know that it sucks and it’s not as cool as footy and la la la, but it’s still DT and it keeps me interested in the NBL. Anyway here at DT TALK we have set up another league this year for our basketball fans! Join our league here with the code 975452! But only the first 10 people can join. If you’re new to NBL DT there are some things a little different… read on for V8’s hot tips!
TRADES – these work the same as the AFL DT. 20 trades to use but only 2 each week. Unlimited till tip off.
SCORING – Very different of course. 2pts for each score and 2pts per rebound so picking a high scoring dude (Kirk Penny. NZL) is an easy way to get shitloads of points. Assists are worth 2 as well, but occur less often than rebounds. Blocks and steals are worth 4, but are also rather rare. The big thing here is… you lose 2 points for a turnover and also a missed shot which can kill you. If you have Kirk Penny and he scores 34pts but shoots 17 outta 40 from the field, instead of getting 70pts (35×2) you get that 70 minus the 23 (46pts) shots. Arg, gets frustrating!! So fingers crossed he hits!
Players in your first 5 get their points if full, but the 5 bunnies you sit on the pine only get half of their score! But all players scores count!
LEAGUES – 10 people play head to head, playing each team twice and then the top 4 go into finals. Don’t forget to post another league in the comments with your name in it to get others involved! You can join 3 leagues as well like the AFL one too.
PICKING – 4 guards, 4 forwards and 2 centres make up your crew under the salary cap of $1 million!
THE CATCH!! …
The most important part of NBL DT is this. Not every team plays exactly 1 game per week. For example the Cairns Taipans play 2 games in the 1st round and Melbourne play 0. So you need Cairns players and one of them as your captain. But then in Rd 4 they play 0. So this is the worst part and the part that everyone hates! But it adds something to it I think, and remember it’s only a game so who really cares!

I admire the devotion to DT, but I would rather fist myself than take part in this. I haven’t checked out the site but assuming NBL DT is as financially viable as the NBL, best of luck in your quest to win the spare tyre/bag of chips/used toothbrush grand prize.
None of that needed Jocko, most blokes on here just love sport so anything that helps you learn the players etc is a good thing I say, get on it!
