Joel Bowden… DT Talk Salutes You!
Sadly, today was the last game of a Dream Team Legend. Joel Bowden retired after a huge career in which the last 9 years saw him average over 87 Dream Team!
Who can forget his mammoth 180 last year against Port Adelaide? He is an out an out superstar. He even finished this year with a 95 point average.
If only Terry Wallace/Jade Rawlings had him in thier Dream Teams. He could have solved some of our back woes and finished the year as one of the best DT Defenders.
On behalf of all DT coaches, thank you Bowds!

I have never had him in my 3 years of DT. Bought him in SC this year before he got dropped

Matt, I give a fuck! He has been the best DT defender over the last 10 years. Easy.
Bowden is a DT gun. Before he was dropped last year, he was always one of the first picked in my team along with the likes of Coxy. I remember before I started DT (in about 02 or 03) my mate was doing it and he had Bowden captain every week with him pulling out a memorable 170 or so one week.

Today the career of the best DT player in history ended. In his time, his club – Richmond – have been perhaps the most underperforming major sporting club in the world. But Joel has maintained his position of DT God.
Today in his final game of AFL, most Richmond and Collingwood players got in a major scrap. Only a handful of players stayed out. Joel, with absolutely NOTHING to lose was one of them – he stood 50m away, hands on hips, not sticking up for any team mates, not putting in.
I can’t think of a better illustration of why DreamTeam is a completely fucked representation of football and why all you tools need a truck-sized dose of fucking perspective.
I just hope he actually got paid close to his DT price for the last 10 years. He never won as many games as he would have liked but Richmond wouldn’t have finished 9th 3 times without him.

Brendon Goddard now takes the reigns from Bowden as the best fantasy defender in both DT and SC.

As president of the AFLPA, a position that will provide him with his future employment,it could be construed as being a lot like you knobjockey, that is,mildly retarded, if Joel had waded in with NOTHING TO WIN and carved some swastikas into some woodheads for laughs. As it was, Joel could be seen in the background intimidating and confusing the unwashed filth that is the c’wood cheer squad with his superior intellect,challenging anyone of them to spell their names correctly.No takers. Do you not think that we have perspective of what DT is? Bowden got dropped after a 118 pt game, from memory. We’re not that stupid. He was a DT god. That’s what we love about playing this game. Cheap, meaningless possessions make great DTers.
My reason for him not getting involved is that the scuffle was the skidmark on the jocks of the AFL, Jake King. You couldn’t like him, even as a team mate. Let the little rat looking prick with the biggest little man’s syndrome in the AFL get his head punched in.

Bowden is the first player i pick every year. He has never let me down and i just love watching him chip it around the backline racking up those dt points.
From a stats perspective he was a great DT player, however I’ve never had him in the 2 years of DT I’ve played. So I’ll just take everyones word on it.
Jake King is right up there with Josh Carr, because if you can’t out-play your opponent just talk trash….
If there were quick DT points earned for a melee he would’ve charged right in…
