Roy’s Dream Team Review – Round 14
What an awesome weekend of footy, had I not been so DT orientated, it would have been great to watch. Instead of enjoying the absolute epic between the cats and saints, im left thinking ‘how the hell?’
- How did Tims Under 15 state champs score 2,409?
- How did I not need a downgrade trade when Greg Broughtons price was about to rise (3 x 100 in the last 6)?
- How come all my players keep getting injured?
- How come I lose sleep over my team when it is shit anyway?
- How come I havent deleted my shit team?
The answer is, thats DT baby and thats why we love it. You never know when your luck might change. In fact, law of averages says that after 14 weeks straight of shitness, injuries and bad luck… im in for a big one! soon… surely, well, maybe early next season but its around the corner somewhere.
Maybe this is the week Mundy could score as many as Sam Gilbert who smashed out 119 this week against the Cats. I wonder if Jonathon Brown could reach anywhere near the heights of fellow foward Paul Chapman who pumped out over 150 against the DT tight arse Saints. Hey Browny, even get within 20 of the form man of the competition Alan Didak who took the foot the pedal for a lazy 121. Maybe Buddy Franklin could be worth a piece of shit so I could straight swap him for a pile of crap. Maybe just turn up and play Stevie J. And dont ever withdraw from another game without giving me notice. Jeff Garlett was obviouly not given enough time to prepare and hence had 22 at 3/4 time. A little notice Johnno, thats all I ask. Pav let me know he was out and look how Hayden Ballantyne filled his spot, bloody beautifully!
What about Jack Grimes and his 143. I bet there are alot of people out there feeling the same about Grime as I do with Broughton. “dont think, DO” Im very happy with him! And, put your hands together for my boy, Bryce Gibbs. He has been an absolute steal of late, yet still alot of people have been bagging him out… well to all those baggers “you are”.
How are the DT gods looking upon you? Im in the top 1000 with no love from them, If they smile just 1 week, I’ll be laughing. How many smiles are you getting guys and gals?

Jeez Roy ur not doing that bad. Still top 1000, which is better than me yet I am still positive about the rest of the season (touchwood).
Well they have smiling on me lately, even though I have Cox and Pav out the last 3 weeks I’ve pumped out 2215, 1972 and 2152 which has fast tracked me 10,000 spots to 6,000 something over all. Being my second year I’m relatively happy
Changes I’ve noticed have been Broughton, Grimes and Didak stepping up. Although Bryce Gibbs and adcock deserve a mention.
Sitting pretty in 2nd in my league I’ve been dominating my opponents lately but I’m still cautiously taking it one week at a time. Don’t want to do a ‘Geelong’ of 2008.

Getting bored, i traded mid week once. I think, wow joel bowden looks cheap ill get him. SO i go and trade….jack grimes for bowden. To my dismay he is *tenses* dropped. And am left with nothing. Grimes thens kills and and i am left with a donut for 2 weeks as drummond is dropped. Very close to deleting my team
This week i could increase the number of premiems by 5.

I cannot take a trick in this, trade in Buddy during the season, Aaron Davey got reported (no news on that one), Brennan out for a week and Stevie J out at the last notice. I must have annoyed some people in my very first season of fantasy football many years ago.
i have the chad cox and stevie j to come back in to a side that scored 1846 with 3 zeros and pav still waiting in the wings. the night is always darkest before the dawn ..and the dawn is coming

Well I was sitting inside the top 300 but am now in the top 500.
Been destroyed with Cox & Pendles going out in the 1 week and then with Foley’s score of 0.. i mean 23 and now looking likely to miss a couple of weeks.
Franklin’s been helping me out by chipping in with a kick or two each game, which is an added bonus. (I would just like to add that I think Franklin isn’t worth a piece of shit as a piece of shit may actually have some value).
Still sitting with the Chad on the bench as well but have managed 2000+ the last two weeks with a couple of 0’s.
On the bright side I’m still in the eliminator with a bit of luck.
Copped a doughnut thanks to Drummond getting the softly, softly treatment from Brisbane, and had Stevie J and Goodwin on the bench as well but can’t complain.
Managed 2344, which was good for 35th for the round. Yew!

I have obree (317 k) who isn’t doin so well and was thinking of trading him out for selwood, salopek (cause hes cheap) or maybe even gibbs or murphy. Who shuld I chose out of those guys? Thanks heaps

@ curious im in one of his leagues and he is currently 3rd he scored 1920 this week , overall he is goin alright i guess.
On the weekend i was looking at 3 donuts with Cox out with no cover and Pav and Goodwin out with no cover due to Walker and Sidebottom being dropped. Then to top it off i was hit with another donut from Stevie J giving me a total of 4 donuts!!!
After being so unlucky on the donut front i was lucky enough that my remaining 18 players managed to get me 1871 (my lowest score for the year)
If all those guys weren’t out i would have easily got my best score for the year, it’s a cruel game sometimes!
The day of redemption is at hand!
After copping a high number ofdougnuts over the past 6 weeks and holding trades, i’ll go very close to finally having a full strength team for this round.
