Porpy back! West gone! JJ & Rama retire! & More!
DT news that matters ahead of the big Grand Final has been flooding in all day today… here are the highlights:
Adelaide have confirmed Jason Porplyzia and Bernie Vince will make a return to the side this week. Fantastic news for those who have held onto (or been stuck) with the two of them looking for cover for old mate Matthew Pavlich who is likely to miss this week too.- Essendon duo Jason Johnson and Adam Ramanauskas have announced their retirements but will play out the season. Damien Peverill has been told that he will be delisted at the end of the season in the massive Bombers cull.
- The Sydney Swans will look to rest some of their stars this week. We can speculate about Adam Goodes being omitted this week, but Paul Roos did say this week is a chance for players to get back into form.
- The season is over for Scott West. after not getting up to play VFL on the weekend. West and the club have decided that the race to be selected in the finals is over.
- Those hoping for one more week from the Richmond version of Nathan Brown, won’t get their wish. The club has confirmed that his season is over.

All I ask is for all my players to stay in this weekend. I was a good boy and saved my trades – until now – I deserve it. It’s the GF!
I have my DT GF parade Friday lunchtime – talked my missus into driving me up and down the street a few times, slowly. I’ll sit in the back with the window down, waving. She’s refused to toot frequently.
Then the GF Breakfast is Saturday morning – local cafe, extra bacon. Might make a short speech.

umm warnie r u serious that goodes could get dropped? thats great news, but he is a dual brownlow medalists and kicked 8 goals two weeks ago, do u mean dropped or rested?, btw mention wilkes in ur dt talk episode, cause he won my game, filling in for gilbbe, and scored a PB, go WILKES
my only basis of goodes being dropped/rested… is that he is one of their guns… has been injured of late (ie. missed a couple of games a couple of weeks ago)… and has been pretty shit – even when he kicked 8 – he spent the whole game in the forward line. the last two weeks, in DT terms and actual game play, he has been down…
so… basically, i only said he might be dropped because i am reading too much into roos comments! haha…

Would be good to know what happenend to Ellis. The late changes of Pavlich, Gilbee, and Ellis cost me in 1 of my teams (lost by only 60).
PORPY you are a star. We need you in the crows forward line and Second, your taking over Pavlich spot. yeh i finally have a full team line up, havnt experienced that since round 2 LOL

FORWARDS: Gia, Steve Johnson(geelong), O’keefe, Buddy, Barry Hall, Riewoldt and R.Murhpy
Why would you pick Pendles over Swan? BJ could score more than Murphy too. DT Finals is all down to luck at the end of the day. Take a risk and it either pays off or backfires, then everyone gets unlimited trades again.
Petrie over Hale? Hmm…
Fair play to someone doing something ‘unusual’ in finals DT. 90% of the teams will have the same 18-20 players. So if you have a feeling about a smokie, why not have a crack!
Yeah.. I agree Henry – there are some ‘locks’ that must be selected by all teams (ie. Hodgey as a defender now)…

Pav officially won’t play on Friday against the Pies:
“He won’t play, that is it for Pav,” Harvey told 6PR.
“He has developed a stress hot spot in his foot and we think it is on the back of his knee (injury).
“That is the unfortunate path, we won’t see Matthew Pavlich this Friday night but having said that we have played really well in the two games we have not had him.”
