Two Pies involved in Drink Driving incident

Files under 2008 | Posted by Warnie

According to an article on news.com.au, two Collingwood players have been involved in a drink driving incident last night at around 11:30pm. Apparently a 22 year old driver (rumoured to be Heath Shaw) ploughed into some parked cars… and blew over the legal limit. The article says “Collingwood has refused to comment on the claims, but the club has said it will issue a statement later today.” Therefore, it must involve someone from the club… here it comes, a f*cking Round 19 Club Suspension! Remind you of anyone else?

UPDATEThe Collingwood Football Club can confirm Heath Shaw was in a minor car accident when the car he was driving made contact with a stationary vehicle last night. Heath was not injured, however police later charged him with drink driving.
The club will hold a press conference at the Lexus Centre at 2pm today. There will be no further comment from anyone at the club until that time.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Eddie McGuire has said that they will not drop Heath Shaw this week! He will cop a massive fine and “Mick will sort him out on the training track”. SOURCE: An angry Eddie McGuire interview on SEN. Oh boy… Heater will get 150 this week! Go son!

    If it means anything, MM has a history of not suspending his stars for off-field indescretions. If anyone can remember Ben Johnson and Chris Tarrant from a couple of years ago they played the following week, we can be thankful that they have to fight for their position in the 8!

    lol, how long is he going to be suspended by the club do you reckon? Hopefully Purgoyne comes back this week and Proud can cover for Heater with another 80+

    Henry - keep in mind Shaw is a lightweight.

    Heath Shaw - you dickhead. Can’t you:
    - Get a taxi?
    - Pick up, a get a ride with her (or him)?
    - Get your girl (or boy) friend to pick you up?
    - Get your mum to pick you up?
    - Get a team mate to pick you up?
    - Get Joffa to pick you up? He hasn’t got a life…
    - Get Mick Malthouse to pick you up?

    You - dick - head.

    Well played Heath “Dumbass” Shaw. You have pissed off everyone with your dream team play this year. One thing is for sure, you will not be in my team next year. Collingwood will suspend him. They need to make an example of him as they got bad publicity when they did not suspend Tarrant and Johnson. Apparently Eddie is absolutely livid that his has happened again after the Wellingham incident.

  22. GravatarBy The Saint on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply

    Rumour has it heath shaw was caught at 0.15…when asked by the policeman was there any reason u got drunk then drove tonight, he replied “yeah cos i was depressed after being traded out by 11,564 people for scoring so shit over the past month”

  23. GravatarBy Schlocky on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply

    Drink driving is for immature fools who have no regard for the rest of society.
    If you get caught drink driving, the police should be allowed to bash you.

    Anyone with that haircut and Tony Shaw as an uncle cannot be the sharpest tool in the shed full of blunt instruments that is Collingwood.

  25. GravatarBy crimson on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply

    Well said Schlocky.

    He’s gone, Collingwood can’t let another player get away with drink driving, and his recent form isnt good enough to save him. I reckon he might even get delisted.

  26. GravatarBy D-train on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply

    Gee, the double-whammy is that it’s rumoured to have been “Guns” Didak in the car with him..

    Where did he do it? I heard he spent the weekend in Tas with his bro after Friday nights game

  28. GravatarBy Leigh (Aka Cousins Coke n Ice) on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply

    OK. On the proviso he is rubbed out by the club for 1 or 2 weeks (Maybe the season!) I will have no choice but to use my last trade (Fucking Wanker) and I have just checked and I will have $342,900 to spend…….

    Who would be the best player in everyones opinions to replace him?
    Bock, McMahon or Brennan is who im thinking.

  29. GravatarBy The Maggot on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply

    No way to a delisting.

    They even let Didak play the following week after shooting JFK so I think Heath will be right to play this week.

    He’d better anyway as I can’t afford to trade him out…

  31. GravatarBy Anon on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply

    ~~~~~~IMPORTANT~~~~~~
    Guys I think this is only half the story. I am 80% sure that Didak was the other passenger. If that is true, I would imagine that he was drinking too (otherwise he should have been driving) which would mean a breach of his agreement.
    Some “ifs” and “maybes” in that, but we shall soon know!
  32. GravatarBy Warnie on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply
    Yeah, Heater and his bro were in Tassie over the weekend. Behaved themselves from all accounts… even have a photo with Heater wearing my DT Talk hat! They were top guys… hopefully for the sake of the thousands of people who have him in their DT, that they don’t suspend him, but I think the club has no choice. So I guess we will all know after the 2pm Press Conference.
    I barrack for Collingwood and even I think it’s disgraceful if Shaw doesn’t get a suspension. Given the clubs history of indiscretions going largely unpunished, not taking action here will have PR ramifications I’d expect.
  58. GravatarBy Leigh (Aka Cousins Coke n Ice) on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply
    Yeah, I believe you boobsy, but I just cant believe collingwood! Having been in an accident due to a drink driver and losing someone close, Its amazing that even given the fact that they have lost $4 Mill in sponsor ships that they continue to let these people play football. Any other club would make the tough call regardless of where they are on the ladder and suspend the bloke as well as fine them. Just not collingwood….its a bit like the clash strip debate, one rule applies for Collingwood, a different rule applies to other clubs. The AFL really need to step in with things like this and make it mandatory for suspensions with Drink driving cases.
  59. GravatarBy Schiavo Diet on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply
    eagles lose 15 games and the tag as worst behaved club in the league. they can’t win anything! AFL should get a retired Judge to investigate why all collingwood players and supporters have IQ’s slightly below the retard line.
    I just had a look on the AFL website and Browne from Carlton faces a three match ban for the quote-unquote hit on Porp’s… Seriously those guys need to get a fucking clue, has any one of them played football? It would have been a disgrace if he even got a reprimand, but 3 games for it is the biggest load of tripe since Cloke missed the GF for “striking” a few years back… AFL wake the hell up and realise it was unavoidable by him.
  77. GravatarBy dids on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply
    omg as if browne got 3 weeks,i dont hav him but stil thats shit and milburn 2 weeks,well i thought milburn deserved 1 week so i guess thats ok and THANK U coz my opponent in elimination final has him…but his got harry taylor as back up
  78. GravatarBy Tritty on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply
    I do have him in my side, but thats not the reason Im so angry, (im also a richmond supporter so if i was to be biased it would be against carlton). I am just sick and tired of any time anyone gets injured the AFL needs a scapegoat in this case it was Browne, who could do nothing whatsoever to avoid contact. They clearly have no idea about reports. Its like Barry Hall getting 8, and Solomon getting 8…. I think what solomon was dirty, and was something which should never be seen in football, but at least it was somewhere near a contest not a dirty cheapshot behind play. The AFL have a lot to answer for with their new system, considering that it has cost Buddy the opportunity to win a Brownlow this year, and could potentially spell the end of Browne’s 2008.
  79. GravatarBy dids on Aug 4, 2008 | Reply
    yer afl need 2 get it right in report system WAY 2 inconsistent with ther desicions,porps basically got pushed in2 brownes shoulda and browne gets 3 weeks?also porps wasnt even knocked out 4 long,he had his head up the whole time while on the stretcher so the contact cleary wasnt that hard and im a collingwood supporter so yes definately not biased
