Geelong’s Brownlow medal favourite Gary Ablett and team mate David Wojcinski have been ruled out of Saturday night’s clash with Richmond. Cats medical staff decided after training on Wednesday that both players needed “one more week” (heard that one before) on the sidelines, the club said.
In other news… Graham Johncock is no certainty to get back into the Crows line-up this week. Scott Lucas is unlikely to be taking on the Demons this week, while Andrew Lovett is in the selection mix for this week.
Oh… and some awesome news, Graham Polak is out of hospital! Great stuff mate!

dids, Stevie Johnson is likely to benefit from Chapman being sidelined… but they’re all good options except for maybe Fev, who I wouldn’t pick up at this stage.

I’ve got Medhurst, Gia and SJ and I reckon SJ is the best of those. He almost always gets 80+ like Gia, but he can have a huge game sometimes (~160) which Gia doesn’t tend to do. Medhurst is copping the number 1 defender these days so don’t get him. Not to mention SJ is in top form at the moment which is perfect for finals footy. I reckon he might be a Ninja.

I think the cats medical staff decided it was only Richmond this week and no need to bring anyone back.
and i hope for that chris.. that richmond make an upset and beat geelong so the medical staff learn their lesson! ablett must play at all cost. period.

Thought I’d see what happens to Corey and Bartel when Ablett comes back into the team.

You can see that when Ablett has big games that Corey suffers (thick green lines).
The opposite when Ablett has a bad game.
Bartel vs Ablett isn’t *as* bad but there is still some negative correlation there.
So I reckon those people who don’t have Ablett but do have one of Bartel/Corey definitely don’t want him back for the rest of the season!
because not only will Ablett get a great score as captain, but Corey or Bartel will have a shit game just to rub it in.

yeah i do like graph dan .. it makes me want to compare the ablett/bartel/corey trio, with the judd/cousins/kerr juggernaut of a few years ago? ..which trio do people think is/was better (tough question maybe?)

I as everyone else is pissed about Gablett missing, although ive been able to score 2000’s without him.
Just a thought, with all those outs is richmond any chance at all? Id say so if Ling doesnt play.

Dan - top work mate. Pity there’s nothing we can do about it as they’re some of the best Mids going around DT. I won’t be surprised if those green lines get taller as Ablett and coach Thompson ensure Ablett locks-in the Brownlow in the last few rounds (when he finally returns) with several 35+ possession games.
Tigers lost one quarter to Geelong last time they played, but lost by 30 points! They lost the 3rd quarter and low and behold who went bananas????? Gablett and Chapman…….guess who aint taking the tigers on this time round……Gablett and Chapman. Tigers are playing better footy than back then as well so I reckon you would get some juicy old odds on the Tigers by under 39.5. Wouldnt it suck if you had a hundred on that and they won by 40……
Wish I had two trades left, Id piss off ablett and free up some cash to offload Shaw and bring in some point scorers! Only 1 trade left though so will hold on and hope for the best!
