The Chad, Retirements, Axings… and more!

It’s Tuesday morning… and there is already plenty of Dream Team news that we need to know of!

  • Chad... back this week!Despite everything that has been said… rumoured, etc… Chad Cornes is set to return this week. But with his massive injury list (including now a shoulder that needs to be operated on), is it worth holding him? Will he be able to score what we expect of him? Worth burning a trade to get in a more ‘un-injured’ back? Hmm… decisions, decisions!!
  • Fremantle midfielder Peter Bell has announced his immediate retirement. Good for the rookies and young blokes in the midfield. Nice work Ding Dong – going out with a respectable average of 82 DT points per game. Thanks for being a great DTer!
  • West Coast Eagles Michael Braun also announced his retirement, but will play out the season (if he can get get selected each week).
  • Demon Aaron Davey has been dropped by the all high and mighty Melbourne Leadershop group for being ‘unprofessional’ while in Darwin. He was up there for a close friend’s mothers funeral… but reading into it, he would have smashed a few NT Draughts while he was there. He will miss this weeks match.
  • The Kangaroos are going to borrow Chopper’s axe this week by the sounds of it… with Daniel Harris, Corey Jones, Nathan Thompson and Shannon Watt having their names put up as potential chop-ees.
  • Nathan Ablett started training with the Cats again yesterday… maybe a bargain pick in DT 2009?
