Walking wounded DT God - Super Chad Cornes - may call it quits on 2008 if things don’t improve in the next week. He has been struggling with his knee injury over the past few weeks… and this is on top of his finger that he busted a couple of months ago and a calf injury that he sustained in round 13.
We will hopefully know before teams are selected next week, but it doesn’t look promising for everyon’s favourite DTer!
Read into this article what you will… but, my advice is to trade the gun out… get in someone that Vin has been talking about in this post.

I threw poor Chad on the scrap heap last week and got in some bunny who is probably injured. He’s a lock in for next year - love ya Chad! Rest up big fella

I had a choice of trading Chad or Burgoyne for Guerra and i chose to trade Burgoyne because i thought Chad could come back on fire after the break, that has just turned pear shaped, well at least i think so…

Chad will be first picked for me again next year (along with big cox), should be cheaper next year.
By Ausyid on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
traded him out before this round. was a choice between him and purgoyne who to trade out. glad i made the right decision.
By Lin on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
The right decision was to make no trades and wait for more reliable information. thats what i did.

like most of y’all i had the Purgoyne/Chad dilemma. and as much it pained me to trade every1s favourite DTer out, i am comforted knowing that i made the right trade, and good old Goooo did the job this week.

I’m with Lin, he is super Chad & capable of coming out next week & racking up 100+.
By Chad on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
What about me Lin, I traded Chad out at 360k for a gun cause I knew he wasn’t right, and price was only going down.
Surely that was the right decision. You will trade Chad out, I have had a premium the whole time, and got a higher price for chad.

The problem with the idea that you could trade Chad out for a gun is that he is the only backline gun. Mackie is approaching that status. Heath Shaw fails because he is so unreliable; Sam Fisher is very consistent, but he’s a fair way from a consistent 100. There are others, but again they are either inconsistent or not able to rack up a regular score of 100.

haha….yea sure u made the right decision Lin. It sounds like the right decision was to trade him out last week. I picked up nathan bock. its funny how all of the people that traded chad come out of the wood work. I thought i may of made a mistake last week but as it turns out i havent.
By Disco on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
Lin - well done, well done. No point jumping the gun - especially if the Chad had returned with a 90+ average for the rest of the year.
By mark on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
bet u $10 disco that your backing him up cause you did the same thing!!!!
By dt on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
i’m thinking chad for milburn? is that any good.
By Dan on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
i’m waiting - not giving up hope until those team sheets say he’s out - someone scoring 152 in your backline is worth waiting for just to make sure … esp with trades like hens teeth
Dan.

Harden the fuck up Chadwick you deadshit.
By Dan the Man on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
This is all just a ploy by super chad to find out who is really loyal to the Chad.
He’s going to repay my faith & ave 90+ for the rest of the year (please!!!)
By Mo-town on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
super chad will pull his dislocated finger out next week and score a ton…
By CC on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
Traded him out in DT and kept in SC. Now I can say I did the right thing no matter what happens.
By Chad on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
but CC you also did the wrong thing no matter what happens
By Disco on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
mark - yeah, at odds of 1:1. I’m backing Lin up coz I think its the right thing to do. Trades are more valuable than cash and there are no decent Backs worth trading to.

Looks like im going to win all my league matches without trading pburgoin or chad. I now have an extra week to see how there going and to get some definite info. with only 4 trades left iv gotta be sure a players out for the season befor i waist a trade on them.
By Les on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
Very tempted to trade him to a very cheap rookie and pick up a gun elsewhere and just write off my backline completely…
Still holding him for now though.
By alo on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
the point is pretty much every one is going off to the doctors due to serious back pain.
By DRuz on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
I have heaps of money so it doesn’t matter if I wait to trade him. If you have gotten rid of him already you are a fool, thats my opinion.
By cruzzaa on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
There goes my last trade and probably my DT season. Ready to show the white flag.
By Sheen on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
cruzzaa super chad would be devastated you have thrown in the towel. if not for yourself then do it for super chad!
By Lozza GO CROWS (I love Porplyzia) on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
If this is goodbye for 2008 to him its bye bye to dreamteam to me.
Coming 44th with 4 trades left and this will leave me with 3..
Great..
By Chad on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
gees dont give up lozza, you got a full 22 playing, and a gun midfield put chad on the pine and save the trade.
By Pom on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
get GUerra
i have wasted 2 trades on him this year and it was worth it
had him from the start then traded when he got injured then last week brought the big boy back for the chad - i hope chad gets surgery and misses the rest of the year-
then he will be cheap pickings and no.1 pick next year!! (which he is going to be anyway)

mackie, guerra or goddard???
By Dave on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
I’m waiting to hear the final that hes out, you’d be a twat if u traded him already until your sure hes not coming back, i’ll wait till next week…
By damo95 on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply
This all is just BS.
Not once does this article say Chad is out for the season.
Just like Hutchy (the rat) talking shit about Fevola moving to Sydney.
The media has had another quiet week due to the split round so they are streching for stories.
Hey everyone trade Chad now!!!!!
You will regret it, (hopefully).
By fryzie on Jul 5, 2008 | Reply
I remain confident that Chad will return and kill it for the rest of the year. Why you may ask? Well the answer is simple, because so much has gone wrong in my backline this year it is infeasible that anything else could go wrong, especially of this magnitude.
It’s just like when you’re on a bad losing streak at the casino, you don’t just walk away YOU’RE DUE! KEEP GAMBLING! Ask mathman!
I’ll keep SuperChad until he’s officially out for surgery. It’s science.
