AFL Teams: Round 14 (Part 2)

Files under AFL Teams | Posted by Warnie

It’s funny… we look at these teams… and can’t do a damn thing about them! No trading, no emergency fixing… nothing! Big news is that Harry Taylor has been dropped for the Cats for Matthew Scarlett to come back (maybe a few teams had him covering some of that back pain), pre-season DT wonderboy Brent Prismall has been omitted, Brad Symes is back into the Crows lineup. So if you’re interested, read more for the teams!

omfg I knew Taylor would get dropped, this is gonna kill me in every game I’m playing, zeros everywhere in my backline. What a fucking joke I am so over dream team this year I hate it.

Good news, Heath Shaw is still alive! No ankle troubles unless he gets tagged!

Taylor has stitched me up - an easy win is now a close contest. Pretty hard for him to break into that backline thou…

im so sick of prismall being dropped. im a geelong supporter myself and i hope he quits geelong at the end of the season and goes to a club where he will be certain of a game every week. he fully deserves it and is an awesome player, if he was in any other side he would have clocked up at least 50 games by now.

I love the dreamteam, been doing it for 6 yers now but never have I had a year like this with injuries and those stupid split rounds and holy thursday matches. Need taylor to cover Chad, it makes me sick that he has been dropped :-(

Fuking Taylor dropped, thats Purgoyne, Cornes and Taylor out of my backline, this is absolute bullshit. I’m gonna get rolled by the 2nd bottom guy in my league and I’m on top. Shite round….

Dammit!!! Was on track for an awesome score, now will only get an ok one…as a Geelong supporter i think taylor should have stayed. He is meant to be egan’s replacement, what the hell? We need a tall backmen more.

Symes, oh yeah, been waiting a couple of months baby. Now hopefully he gets better than 52, because Jake King is my emergency who I won’t be using now

Who do you think will win
(burton, stokes, thomas, chappie, and porps) vs (260+medhurst and tippet)

  14. By will on Jul 3, 2008 | Reply

260+ med and tippett i think. why would they drop prismall? for who would they drop him. please come to collingwood prismall!!

  15. By Dave on Jul 3, 2008 | Reply

I’m hoping Geelong can shut down Burton which Taylor could have done for sure…

As a Bomber man without much midfield depth, we’d take Prismall at a pinch. Especially if Bomber T is feeling as charitable as what he was last year with the Saints!

    based on averages:

    burton(85),stokes(83),thomas(80),chapman(95),porplyzia(90)
    total: 433

    vs

    260,medhurst(91),tippett(46)
    total: 397

So 36 points in it… anyone’s game really.

Watch for Medhurst getting 130 because he’s Vin-Twin’s captain

    :)

I’m still shitting myself in this situation:

    bock(89),mattner(75),o’brien(53),bolton(74),scarlett(50),porplyzia(91),tippett(46)
    swan captain(106)x2=(212)
    total: 690

    vs

    kennelly(66),symes(77),shaw(88),njbrown(35),bird(50),corey(103),medhurst(90),johnson(92)
    sub-total: 601
    my points lead: 274
    total: 874

diff: 185 pts… he can easily make that up

Justincredibles……that is the unluckiest backline I have seen in the history of DT! On paper its a masterstroke, but Geez….thats just unlucky!

Surprisingly, Im Ok with my backline:
    Bowden - 117
    Ibbotson - 80
    Gilbee

    Gram - 59 (Shite!)
Hansen - 47 (No choice, Mcleod out)
    Mattner
    H.Shaw

Im gonna get done in the eliminator by the looks of things, but hey, I still have players playing which is good!

  31. By rippersteveM5 on Jul 4, 2008 | Reply

My backline is actually doing pretty decent as well:
    Birchall 98
Ibbo 80 (He was covering for King when I saw that he was named emergency, and ended up getting a better score than him too!)
    Urquhart 73
    Gilbee 72
    Ellis 70
    Shaw —
    Bock —

Okay, no spectacular scores, but no score below 70, so I’m happy.

I’ve always been top 2 every year I have played - but seems like a jinxed backline and have only played with a full backline 2 weeks this year.

Great to hear there are others out there like me…LOL

Have made some stupid moves this year tho, and seemed to get the worse of them.

Who would have the Cats left out for Harry Taylor?? MacKie?
