With the round only part way though, I thought I’d spend a little time this week, looking over the 6 games played so far. According to the DT Talk “Captains Poll” where 745 people voted, Matthew Pavlich was selected as the most common captain this week along with Ablett at 32% each. So how did the top guns go so far this round or have we messed up? How did my top picks rate this weekend so far and have you got ‘em?
West Coast Vs Hawthorn
My top 3 picks here were the West Coast trio Cox (124), Embley (69) and Priddis (135). Not a bad start at all here. Embley broke his run of hundreds to let me down but the other boys turned it on. Priddis got some sort of record for his 45 touches - magnet!Only 4% of people had Cox for the job though, as he was clearly one of the best on. Other guns such as Kerr (111) and Luke Hodge (107) were other top potential captains here! Great start Vin!! Thanks.
Richo Vs Carlton
Well bugger me! Can you believe it. Before this game Richo’s lowest score in his last 11 games was 93. Sure thing I thought so he was my boy this week. Thanks for 48 champ, unlucky with the injury I guess! ARRGGG! My other top picks of Judd (DNP) and Stevo (121) were… well… you can see. Bowden surprised me here, 117 - good again!!!
Kangaroos Vs St Kilda
My top picks here were Reivoldt (128), Harvey (99) and Hayes (DNP) were all pretty good! Big Nick has been carving it and I wonder how many coaches out there cashed in on the 128 here! Brent Harvey was slid for his near 100! Nervous 90’s??
Westerndawgs Vs Port
Crossy (126), Kane (131) and B.J (104) - were the top picks here this week and I’m happy to say, nailed them! Well done fellas. Isn’t it nice when top players pull though for you, you listening Richo. Thanks for the 131 this week Kane, had you as captain for the last 2 weeks and now you do this ARRGGG - frustrating! I’m sure a few stuck with you though - well done those coaches! Daniel Cross would be a veru consistant player this year for any coach.
Melbourne Vs Brisbane
Great win Dees! But nothing to do with captains, but good win. I selected Brownie (105), White (DNP) and Black (59). Ummm… Jeff White dropped? you gotta be kidding me. 2nd best ruck in the competion, in the worst side and dropped - bugger me! Black sucked and J.B was destROY’s captain along with 8% of other coaches, did the job with a solid 100+. Brad Green was the gun here though with a huge 145.
Frematle Vs Essendon
Sandilands (maybe the 2nd best ruck, take your pick, him or White) ripped it this week with a 129. My top picks of Pav (103), Lucas (37) and Stanton (82) were terrible. Pav good, you others suck. Stanton did cash in late to pick up his ‘average’ effort.
With 6 out of the 8 games gone. Most peoples captains would have played. Personally Richo killed me, but 32% of coaches would be pretty happy with Pav’s 103! Another 32% of people are still holding thier breaths waiting on Ablett Vs the Crows. Maybe not holding thier breath just waiting to see what he will score between 120 and 150. Joel Corey and Scott Thompson are other captains who has been heavily selected this week. So big game this weekend! Good luck lads.

I predicted about 4 or 5 weeks ago that 211 would score better then White moving forward and am looking good right now! If I understand it, the compared scores this week were 129 v 0 (White doesn’t get his VFL points, right?).
Unfortunately I threw logic (my own logic at that) out the window and picked buddy as Captain this week (he kicked 5.2 and only scored 78, was killed by the umpire (I am biased) costing him about 40 points (2 FA that should have been Marks and Goals!).
Still having a good week but will see.

mmm i think i should have left ablett captain and not mitchell but im 1591 from 15 or 16 inculding captain and if all my players left get there average i will get 2228 looking great
was playing a shocking team this week so i took the risk and chose reiwoldt as captain. probably pick him again with form like his.
also im on 1762 from 17 including captain so looking at massive score partly thanks to reiwoldt captain and the 9 100’s ive got so far

What does everyone think of leigh montagna- proven dt star in past years, was $420,000 a few weeks ago, now $290,000 and still has an average of about 85, but in the last few weeks hes been playing as a tagger

I have had Ablett as capitano for the whole year. Changed to PAv this week for some reason. If Ablett scores hios avg, I will miss out on about 40 points….oh well. Looking for a score of 2150 based on avgs.
