Graham Polak was woken from his coma today and showed positive signs. Although it is still too early to rule out permanent damage, Polak was able to squeeze hands of family members. At the scene, Polak was “deeply concussed” and scans do show “some areas of brain injury.” There are hopes that Polak will be moved from intensive care into a ward either tonight or tomorrow. Club Doctor Hickey said today that “there are no tubes, no drugs in him … and at the moment is sleeping most of the time.”
Roy claims he will keep Polak in his PDT to show him support for the rest of the season! Good luck Roy and keeping fighting strong Polly!

All the best big fella, hope you have a speedy and full recovery.
Best wishes to the Poleax, wishing you a speedy recovery, such a shocking tragic accident, puts into perspective that this is all just a fun game i think.
All the best
Rusty
Amen to that.
He was in both my SC and DT last year. All the best.
Surely there has to be more to this? alcohol? drugs? did he not see the tram coming?
Best wishes to Graham and his family and friends through this tragic time
get well mate
News on SEN said they have taken him out of his coma and the brain has stopped swelling. He supposedly also squeezed his brothers hand which is a good sign.
Being at the Game on Saturday, I remember him backing into Fevola and then coming off the ground Gingerly. He then returned and still had a bit of influence, all with a couple of broken Ribs. He has showed that he has these fighting traits within him and I believe that with the support of everyone in the footy community, his family and the prayers of all that he has what it takes to make a full recovery.
all the best polak and best wishes to u ur family and ur friends
gett better graham. my thoughts are with you…………………and on a yr 12 P.E exam i have in 2 hours:(
Just in reference to Chad’s comment, it’s completely plausible he was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, anyone who lives in Melbourne knows people have a habit of running across the road and tram accidents are actually quite common. I myself have been clipped by trams a few times carelessly running across, you tend to be looking out for the cars not the trams
All the best mate.
Where the accident occurred, the tram line is separate to the road, so it makes you think a bit how it happened. I guess he’s used to walking across without any trams being there (it happened just outside his apartment), but maybe that Fevola bump concussed him a little?
Anyway all the best to him, I hope he fully recovers as well. I heard he’s moving limbs and following orders given by the doctors so that’s a good step.
good post…. keep ya chin up polly, wish you were still in the purple big fella
All the best polly, we all hope for a speedy and healthy recovery!
good on ya roy.
and all the best in a speedy recovery graham
