coxy and roughead are all i have from this game, and they scored 124 and 135… nicely done.

my opponent in my most important league had hodge captain…at half time i was jumpin up n down bcoz they sed he probs wont come back on after gettin injured…ended up wit 107…grr
cox great score but only 7 in the last qtr !!!
Cox was barely on the ground in the last quarter… obviously once the game was gone they just rested him to nurse his injury a bit.
Great Friday for me… Roughie (135), Cox (124), and Birchall (98). 357/3.
As a neutral observer (well I’m a Cats supporter) I would just like to say that Roughead is a far better player than Franklin. I’ve watched most of the Hawks games this season due to having a couple in my DT, and I’ve seen Franklin kick his 4 or 5 or 6 from the 50 or so pointpoint deliveries he receives every game. I’ve also watched Roughead scrap together bags of 4 or 5 or 6 while basically only getting junk delivery, or creating goals himself…
It’s ridiculous how Buddy-focused the Hawks players AND fans are… Fuck I could probably kick 100 goals a year if I had the ball coming to me like that. If you are so happy with Buddy just send Roughead on down the highway to Geelong and I will be a happy chap.
i agree 100% Avan. as a hawks supporter i think we are far too buddy concious (31% of targets inside 50 to him in ‘08). whilst buddy gets most of the attention from doing the miraculous to the nonsensical, roughead tackles well, is more reliable overhead, isn’t afraid to do the dirty work, and is fast becoming more than just a decoy up front. having said this however, i think we are slowly realising he is just as good an option up forward and have been kicking it to him more the last few weeks.
I agree the Hawks are too Buddy conscious, but I saying Roughead is a far better player than Buddy is a MASSIVE call. Buddy is one of the elite players in the game, however not yet consistent. He is certainly better than Roughead, either way I have both in my DT, Roughead as a backman is great considering the slim pickings for DT defenders
308 from my three Hawks - Roughhead, Birchall, and Rioli. Wish I had enough trades to have dumped Rioli a few weeks ago…
I traded Birch in for P.Burger this week. Pretty happy with that at the moment. Of course there are thoughts along the lines of will Roughead start killing it regularly and should I have got him but I think Birch was the right man for the call up especially because of the extra cash I got to upgrade Cotchin in the coming weeks..
I just hope Hawthorn realise just how good of a player they have as their “decoy” forward. Personally I just see it this way… Franklin has kicked 66 goals, Roughead has kicked 46. Now if the roles were reversed, and every kick inside 50 was directed at Roughead all year, I think everyone would agree he would have managed the 1-2 goals more a game to have kicked 66 goals at this stage. But on the other hand, would Buddy have managed to kick 46 in Roughead’s shoes? I have my doubts.
Perhaps that is why the have to kick to so often to buddwood? They know he requires the delivery to kick the goals where as roughy has the ability to generate goals from nothing pack situations.
Maybe the hawks new something when they took roughhead at 2 and franklin at 5?
On another tangent does anyone know dew’s reason for missing? Has he reinjured himself, got dropped, or just having this week off to rest for my dts run to the finals?

Roughead gets second best defender every week, Buddy gets the best, remember that. Buddy also gets double teamed a lot, Roughead doesn’t
With Chad(big baby!), McLeod(I knew something was not right, will come back as a DT machine), and King(sort ya shit out faggot!) all out this week I just want to say Roughy(a god!) and Osborne(where ya been and welcome back!) are fucking legends who know when to step it up when the chips are down, and because of them I might actually win this round. All comes down to the big Pav who got the captains armband ahead of Ablett this week. Could be the dumbest are smartest move in DT history. Dewy said on before the game last night the plan was for him to play 12-15 games this year, and take a couple of breaks during the season. he was just resting this week and is using the split round to get a couple of weeks off. can’t believe he was walking 17km a day 3-4 times a week in the pre-season to shed that weight!!
