Seems alot of people are asking about who can replace Chad Cornes or Peter Burgoyne this week and with trades becoming low and getting close to the August here are a few gun options. After a massive 136 last week, Heath Shaw is now only 10 points off the leading back position. His price is a bargin at 303k and a BE of 71 for anyone who doesn’t have him. Leading backman Bock Dog is 351k and a BE of 39. Even after a DT ton on the weekend, Brent Guerra still need 110 to maintain his 325k price tag (due to his 30 when he was injured in round 8). Other guns Andrew Mackie (356k) has a BE of 76 and Sam Fisher (355k) needs 100 to maintain his price. After a massive 180 Joel Bowden is back to his cheap-touches self at 344k and needs 37 to break even.
At the other end of the pineapple, if you are looking for a cheaper option, Matthew Spanger from West Coast has a BE of -29 at still at rookie price of $83,500 if he gets selected. Gavin Urquhart still has a -ve BE (-5) as does Callan Ward (-3). Nick Lower could also be considered ($83,500), whilst only averaging 30 so far this year in his 2 games, should get games now that Port have “shut up shop”.
Midfielders
Ben Davis (131k) from the Kangaroos has a BE of -35 after a 43 and then a 92 last week. DT Talks own Josh P Kennedy has a BE of -29 if he can get into the 22, similarly with Jamie McNamara from West Coast.
At the premium end, Jimmy Bartel is down to 387k (BE of 112) and Joel Corey is at 380k (BE of 106). Last years highest scoring player Kane Cornes has put up 2 low scores (by his standards) and is priced at 385k but a BE of 153 (could be down to 360k in a couple of weeks).
Forwards
Shane Valenti has a BE of -60 after averaging 58 in his first 2 games, but will he get a game? Jarryd Morton has continued his sensational scores for his owners putting up 98 after 82 from last week, he still has a BE of -33. A bad couple of games for Lance Franklin who needs 175 to hold his 384k price and Alan Didak who needs 157 to hold his 372k price.

ah. good work chadly.
Cheers SusCnt, wish i had a trade to ponder some of these players
Especially backline.
good stuff chad.
pity i cant afford to trade.
ill tell you what, im glad i went with urquhart instead of armfield the other week, especially with armfield now getting injured. He has been very handy in my backline
The thing that concerned me with Urquhart was Laidley.
can any1 find cyril riolis BE coz i cant. If u know it can u tell pls. cheers
Just click on Forwards, then search for Rioli. Roughly 87 is his BE.
laidley better not drop him.
his 70 last week was precious in an otherwise uninspiring performance
Hopefully laidley drops him and brings in Scott D Thompson
k cheers
urquhart wouldnt be dropped.
having a real hard time deciding who can replace salopek. so many options.
bartel, cross, black and kane cornes are the main three i’m looking at, but i already have ablett and corey, so probably not going to get bartel.
thoughts? leaning towards black coz hes been great all year, just wondering if he still has the OP thing hanging around him…
main 4, LOL. chucked kane cornes in there w/o thinking
How many trades you got Worby? Salo is listed as 2-3 weeks, and with the week off might only miss 1, possibly 2 games.
Kane has a BE of 150, so in 2 weeks time he could be down the 360k price.
I want to cash in Rioli quickly (his BE is close to 90 and he’s struggling).
My forward line is Franklin, Didak, Pavlich, Chapman, Brown, T Cloke and Rioli/Morton (Tippett).
I’m considering Riewoldt (but would need to strike this week as his BE is 30 odd), Robert Murphy, Deledio (but would need to wait a week as he has a high BE). Any other suggestions?
Another option could be to cash in Rioli for Valenti (to get an extra $170,000), especially if Valenti is selected. Then, I can upgrade in a few weeks time (closer to finals). I’m on top of my league with some easy games coming up so I don’t HAVE to trade straight away.
Any thoughts on this? thanks
Barge my boy… Im thinking the same thing
currently I have rioli on the ground and morton on the pine… if i bring morton onto the ground and downgrade rioli to a valenti or another rookie I can crab some serious cash and wait for another time to make some serious upgrades.
This ofcourse would only leave me with 3 trades which is very very risky, so im not sure.
Nice work Chad. Appreciate the Price Checks as I don’t have access to the Genie.
Notice there is no comment about Renouf? With Rucks as slim pickings this year, I imagine a few people might have the likes of Wood or Kruezer sitting on the pine. A handy cash option. Or if you were one of those people who went nuts early about West, Mumford or Meesen could give yourself a cheap playing ruckmen.
He’s a cert to be dropped when Taylor is back, but is first in line if Taylor or Campbell ever fall. Could also be brought in as another tall for the Hawks struggling backline…
Good point Smerg, Renouf is a handy cash option, but with trades so low I didn’t think many people would go from Wood/Kruzer to Renouf.
hey what do u guys think i should do i have chad (midfield) and he’s battling and will go down big time and have 70,000 in salary, so can get bartel… BUT i need to get rid of cyril because he is going to go down
A few gun midfielders had some low scores so their price is down, partel at 387 corey 380 kane is 385, and will go down to 375 next week.
even cheaper in a games time Hayes will be around the 325k mark, goodes 350k
Lots of guns capable of hundreds going cheap in the middle.
Very true Chad, it is a cash cow move.
But if you are looking at getting in the likes of Spangherman and Kennedy then I hope people aren’t looking for reliable onfield players. They’re cash trades if nothing else.
But with all the worries with the backs, who really has time to focus on the rucks! (God help us if Cox gets put into pasture…)
indeed, if cox is out i mite have to play kruzer. serious back pain, i have not 1 or 2, but 3 donuts this week (McLeod, King, Peter). Going to take the donuts should still be looking at 1950 and hopefully after the split round king and mcleod will be back.
who do you recon would be a better option Hille or White
hille’s got a low break even this week (i think) and is in superb form.
personally, id choose him
thanks for that I was thinkng I might go for hille and would leave me with a bit more cash
What about Hale now that HMac is out?
