Lions make late changes

Files under 2008 | Posted by Chad

Great news for Stiller and Henderson owners as they come into the side, replacing Sherman (unforseen back injury overnight) and Travis Johnstone (didn’t recover from hamstring injury).

UPDATE: Some great news for J.Selwood and Stokes owners.

“The Cats gained some good news on the injury front with Joel Selwood and Mathew Stokes both passing fitness tests before catching a later flight to Perth to join their teammates.”

Now I have bateman and Johnstone out with Palmer to come in but can’t afford a 0 in the midfield. Should I trade out Bateman (High BE when he returns) for who? 40K in the bank.

Prismall is interesting at $238 but bit of a risk. Love Sammy Mitch but the tags are concerning me. Who’s the best option

  5. GravatarBy Chad on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

bateman+40k means you could look at goodwin, goodes, stanton, harvey, hayes or hodge

Already got Hayes mate. My other centres are Marc Murph, N Stevens, Van Berlo, Johnstone, Palmer and Stevie Browne.

So who do you think is the best long term option. Hodge is my favourite player but not sure, Chappy was available too coz my forwards are set.

  7. GravatarBy Chad on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Hodge is a gun, better in SC than DT i think. Stanton has had a good couple of weeks, personally I would look at either Goodwin or Goodes. (probably Goodes, he is never going to get suspended no matter what he does, gets a lot of free kicks, and usually finishes the season well).

    Jump on Stanton mate.

A few high scores over the past couple weeks means a low BE of just 18, and he seems to have returned to form following the return of other Essendon players.

  9. GravatarBy Floods on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Stanton is good but when he cops a tag I get worried. Goodwin and Goodes are usually good quality. Cheers boys for your help.

CHCUKED SOME MONEY ON ADELAIDE WHEN THEY WERE AT $3.15. THE ODDS WILL SURELY GO DOWN NOW THAT THOSE TWO ARE OUT

Geez I didn’t even notice Stokes was under a cloud - great news indeed!

A bit unrelated, but just pulled the trigger on this:

    Out M Gardiner
    In Hille

Bit risky but hopefully it pays off.

With the injury cloud around some players would it be wise to hold onto Gamble or trade him for Valenti? I also have Hill and I am forced to keep either Gamble of Hill for the rest of the season…

  18. GravatarBy Kaos Ad on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Hille should nail it this weekend with Cloke out

Oooh I had given up on Henderson any more this season. Good news! So that means not only will I have no zeros, I will have scoring emergencies on all lines. For once. :P

    ADVICE please :)

    Trading Travis Johnstone….

Corey, MMurphy, K Cornes, Goodes ??? who to select?

leaning towards corey or kane…..already got Milburn, ablett, kelly, stevie j, chappie in the side. should i still get Corey? or should i mix it up a bit and get kane?

  23. GravatarBy Captain Fantasy on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Bluestreak, mix it up a bit seeing everyone has Corey now. You’ve already got the rest of the Geelong team so why not try Kane Cornes out!

  24. GravatarBy mark on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

go k.cornes. mixing it up is good. some might say thats bad advice but kornes is a gun. its not asthough corey is heaps better.well corey is a hell better footballer but in dt terms they r about even. well actually since kornes is starting to take his tagging way too seriously, maybe corey is the better pick. actually….. go corey!!!! was that helpful blue streak!!!:)

    Cheers…Capt F

    Needed someone elses approval :)

TJ you’ve been chopped! Enough of your pussy hamstrings

Kane….i dont like you, its just business but welcome aboard

is Valenti in the final team?

  27. GravatarBy Sassy on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

    McPhee or Birchall!?

  28. GravatarBy Bluestreak on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

    Thanks Mark

Corey will come in later on….maybe for Palmer towards the business end

Port are downhill skiing for the rest of the season aren’t they?? :p easy possies for kane

  29. GravatarBy OggMonster on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

valenti isn’t in the final 22, which is good ‘cos I would have considered getting him if he was. Now I have no choice but to hold off on the trades this week… don’t have many left, so I think it’s a smart move anyway.

Floods… I would get Goodes. Finishes seasons well and is more likely to be consistant than the others. Stanton might go up in value, but that is irrelevant unless you plan on getting rid of him later in the season.

    TRAVIS JOHNSTONE OUT !!!

    fOR mURPHY OR cROSS????

  31. GravatarBy Craigo on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

    bockdog or medhurst???

what does everyone think? gona be a late trade!

  32. GravatarBy mark on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

no-name:murphy for surea gun, doesnt get tagged and i think cross has a niggling injury

  33. GravatarBy Dan the Man on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Marc is an undisputed gun. Scores 100+ more then Cross. Goes big when he does too!

So IMO i’d go Marc, but he’s in my side & i’m biased!

  34. GravatarBy daisy is a gun on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

    OUT:Michael Gardiner
    IN:Will Minson
is it a waste of a trade or not???with gardiner out i dont want a zero but this will leave me wit 6 trades
    any thoughts???

  35. GravatarBy luke hodge on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

daisy, no point trading to a crap player at this point in the season. if you have the money, its definitely worth a trade up to hille, sandi, white or even simmonds.

  36. GravatarBy Joe on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Is anyone picking up the recently inform Ryan Hargrave? im thinking about getting him.

  37. GravatarBy Floods on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Daisy, I don’t think there is much point in that trade either, Minson doesn’t do much so you’re just wasting a trade IMO. I’d either cop the 0 or downgrade a player if you can and use the cash to get a decent ruck.

  38. GravatarBy daisy is a gun on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

    should i do OUT:Cloke IN:Pavlich, OUT:Gardiner IN:Hille or no trade???

  39. GravatarBy Floods on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Pavlich is DT captain material and hille is doing well lately. Either 1 is a good trade I reckon, Pavlich is the better player but there are plenty of good forwards and not too many good scoring rucks.

  40. GravatarBy Raf on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

If you can do both I’d do both. If you can do one, Cloke to Pav is a good upgrade.

  41. GravatarBy Raf on Jun 20, 2008 | Reply

Gardiner probably has some cash improvement in him, and I reckon Hille is nearing his peak (another week or two left), probably overpriced at the moment, so that’s why if you can only do one, do Cloke to Pav and then you can upgrade Gardiner to a better ruck in a couple of weeks.
