Calvin’s Captains – Rd 13
Well, its Wednesday and I’m 95% recovered after a massive weekend with the lads. However, I have scratched up some numbers for everyone, despite my feelings of anger I still have for my last weeks captain, Kane Cornes. Arrgg!! I was on the money though with some hot tips though! Kane did try to tag Ablett and Shaw did get his arse spanked by Gibbs. Last week my top picks were solid. Thompson (141), Corey (110), Swan (137) and B.J (112) all great scores but it was Kane (62) and Buddwood (66) who lost me some cred this week. Enjoy this lot and fingers crossed!

Big Pav ripped it up last week with his 8 goals and he averages 3 goals a game Vs the Saints and has scored 100, 98, 103 and 130 in his last 4! Reivoldt averages 22d and 12m a game here but his low return this year of only 15d and 9m a game is rather off putting. Only Pav gets me excited here, lets move on to the big boys.

The only big boy here is the old Buddwoooodd! But he might let you down here too. Last week he knocked up 66 with a late surge in the 4th as Roys mate Bocky did the job shutting him down! He apparently struggles here too. Averaging only 73 and 14d a game here… umm, I’ll stay clear! Mitchell will also get you dropping your lip…again. He has averaged 8k and 13hb a game in his last 3 this year – mega low for him. Harvey looks ok here, but will need to shake a tag I’m guessing!
LAST TIME THEY MET: Rd 3 -Sewell had 141, Mitchell went head to head with Simpson and lost, Sam had 42. Lewis 118, Harvey 97, Buddy 86 (5.4g) and Hodge was tagged by Rawlings but still managed 80.

Ok Kane – I will forgive you if you can do something here! He averages 32d in his last 3 games Vs the Tigers and had 36d, 5t and 10m in his last game Vs them. Don’t you dare let me down boy! Chad averages 111 (29d) in his last 2 here and could be worth a thought after he had 104 Vs Geelong last week. Richo…umm how can you write him off, crap average here, but he’ll surely be good, he does average 107 this year!

Wow what a list of jets here. Lets talk form! Ablett has averaged 133 in his last 3 games this year (127, 148, 123) which is mad and he surely will be a go to this week – will he crack the half a million price tag? Embley had been in great form, averaging 114 in his last 4 this year. Bartel averages a round high 130 Vs the Eagles and has done it with 29d and 7t a game! Priddis is yet to get back into the swing of things after his injury, his average of 84 here comes from only 2 games though, as does Embleys average. My early 2008 go to, Dean Cox sat a HUGE part of the game on the weekend despite looking fully fit, tanking West Coast?? umm ha ha, god knows but he is a concern! Watch Joel Corey too, easy 100+ here I reckon! Easy!

Brisbane don’t tag! Unlucky for you Heath Shaw cause you don’t play them. Thompson does! His form has been awesome – ‘he’s so hot right now’ – averaging 30d, 4t and 7m in his last 4, go Scottie boy! Scottie has averaged 99 in his last 3 vs the lions and his form is red hot (and If I knew how to use ‘red’ I would have made it red, right on the ‘red hot’ part). Goodwin averages 115 here in his last 2 made up of 31d a game. Browndawg has averaged 133 in his last 4 this year, although Bocky would love to claim his scalp (yuck, like slice it off) like he did with Buddy and JB be targeted mega, like always. Black is worth a thought as he has form on his side, scoring 100+ in his last 4 games of ‘08.

How is the world does Cam Bruce average that Vs Sydney? – well, he does, nah seriously he does. But seriously, he really does! 24d and 6t is what he averages, plus he had 130 last week, any takers? Bazza Hall had 87 last week in his return before he kills someone else. Kirk averages 104 here, but that is with a 54 the last time he played them.

LAST TIME THEY MET:Rd 3 – McVeigh had a game high 141 and Fev booted 138 (8.4g). Juddy knocked up 115, Carrz 104, Stanton 79, Hille 89, Stevo 89 and Marc had 90. Any takers on Fev this week, especially after his last week and predicted form??

Will Heath Shaw be tagged again – yes of course he will, he is so mental ruined right now, they will put a scarecrow next to him and that will be him done for the day! Swan’s form has been that good that Johnathon (world DT #2) locked him in for captain last week – think again here though champ. He only averages 82 – there is better around.

i think adelaide will make a few changes this week to there team with maybe giving tippett,griffen,bassett and mackay a rest i hope. so then they can bring in burton,reilly,gill and massie/hentuel/symes back into the team

cardez i was thinking about doing the same trade with ball, but i decided that its not worth it. At the end of the day i plan on keeping ball for the rest of the season because he has been very good apart from last week which its worth remembering was against sydney so dont write him off yet.
Lucas for rioli is a good trade though, i think thats a good move

Best tagger I think is either KANE or CROWLEY. Kane trying to tag Ablett on the weekend just proves that Gazza is “untaggable” seriously he is! KANE can get others down mega though, he does well on Judd and thats a big job. CROWLEY held Ablett to his worst score this year, and Nathan Jones (no big deal) to 7. They are my top two picks! – But to go with that, I’d never ever ever pick a Captain Vs Sydney as well.

Alright Calvin, I’m already stressed out due to exams so I can’t make this decision; I have Corey, Cross, Bartel and Kane as my Captain short list this week and cannot decide. Cross and Corey are ’safe’ but Bartel and Kane have the potential to go nuts and get 150.

I’m personally going Kane in my team – he should be fine after a shit week, plays Richmond. He’ll tag Foley and do whatever he wants all day at AAMI. His focus was too much on stop gazza last week and screwed him, Foley will be a breeze. If he stuffs up… we can both mess up 2gether. I know I had Bartel as my top pick, but I’m going Kane now! Fingers crossed for a 130+
I see Crowleys roll in Freo as being a dirty tagger and nothing else. Freo fans might know more, but from what I see he’s a better Steven Baker
