Fingered By Chad

Files under 2008 | Posted by Calvin

finggg.jpgHa ha - no not at all. I don’t feel fingered by Chad at all. I just like the title. Chad Cornes is a gun. A jet. A Dream Team god! He broke his finger sitting on a score of -1 and like many other DT coaches, he too was my Captain. Chad came back on and scored 65!

Chad appeared to be out 4 weeks as he goes for surgery to get screws put in his ring finger to repair the shattered bone. So to play on an get 65 - that’s the ANZAC spirit Chad!

So, with a guy worth $436,300 on your bench…. do you trade?

HANG ON HANG ON!!! This just in - Chad is going to glove up? He plans on wearing a similar glove to the one Glenn Archer wore at the end of his career hoping to cut his absence from the game to just ONE WEEK, missing this weeks Essendon game (and the Hall of Fame Match too). Coach Mark Williams also added “Chad is a very quick healer” bloody good news DT fans. GO CHAD!

Awesome… awesome, awesome… CHAD LIVES!! I am keen to keep him now… was thinking about a trade (due to Wallaces shitnesss re Joel Bowden)… the Warne Dawgs will be back!!

Hmmmm, I don’t know what to do, take the zero for the week or not? I’m already 1 win 2 losses and languishing in the bottom 8, can I afford to lose touch with the top 8 just yet?

ha ha - not funny andystav but I did laugh.
I’m not trading, there’s a good chance the guy you are playing will have him OUT as well. I’ll take a 0 before I kick Chad out

Gotta hope that Wonamirri has a couple of really good weeks…

He can sit on my bench, with Bowden a ready made replacement.

C’mon Terry, apparently he won the game for the Coburg Tigers on the weekend, what more does he have to do?????

will drop thornton for ibbotson i think this week. had a reasonably settled side until thornt and chad this week. Ill keep chad whether it be 2 or 4 weeks.. Josh hill is starting to crap me a bit also. Any potential forward cash cows out there anymore ???

I’ll put him on the bench, and take the donut.

Glad I traded out Hill for McKinley 2 rounds ago, used that money to upgrade Hurn.. would’ve needed another trade there now he’s gone down lame.

What are your thoughts on Marcus Drum? 225K, BE of 5.

Or Ibbotsen is better value, $141K, BE -86. Wish I’d noticed him as a back before.

I have no cover for the Chad or Thornton so I will probably trade them for Shaw and Gilbee or something similar. Already have King. The 65 from the weekend will pull Chad’s price down for a couple of weeks after he comes back and then I should be able to pick him back up as an upgrade for 30k cheaper anyway. Then my backline will be complete. Pretty annoying. If it wasn’t for this eliminator I would probably just bench them both but I want to stay in :D

It’s a good thing Port are struggling as well, if they were up the top of the ladder and playing well they might have told Chad to take his time to heal.

Anyway, I wouldn’t trade out Chad, even if he was going to miss 3 rounds (which it looks like he won’t even miss that now).

    Go Chad!

hopefully the kangas give hansen a go. im not trading chad just for one week.

  17. GravatarBy Raf on Apr 28, 2008 | Reply

North might give Hansen a go with both Edwards and Leigh Brown out, although I thought he was meant to be a gun CHB at u/18?

Wish Carlton would give Jake Edwards a run, he’s still sitting on my back bench waiting to play a 3rd game!

Slight misprint Vin, are u trying to get people to keep him while you secretly trade him??? Haha. Mark Williams said ‘LETS HOPE he is a quick healer’ not ‘he is a quick healer’. But yeah, who gives a shit I’m keeping him anyways just food for thought….

We are starting to get the 2008 versions of things that happened in 2007. I.e:
    * Rioli is the 2008 version of Alywn Daves
    * Palmer is the 2008 version of Prittis
    * etc!

Will Chad be the 2008 version of Nigel Lapin?

As for Tuck/Geary/Proud - who bloody knows?
I guess we will have to wait for some news later in the week as far as injuries go to make room in teams for them, but yeah….tough one!

I know Hunter/Hurn are in doubt this week maybe gives room for SELLWOOD?
Grover/Dodd/Hayden are all in doubt as well, cementing IBBOTSON and other Freo dudes.

But more info will be potsed early this week

  29. GravatarBy COLLINGW08D on Apr 28, 2008 | Reply

    selwood got injured in wafl

  30. GravatarBy BrayDog on Apr 28, 2008 | Reply

Kerr/Hunter/Hurn and Maybe Cox. Surely Nicoski could get another gig.

Tuck will be lucky to get a game any time soon.

And, it will be Grover/Dodd/Hayden/Carr out for Freo.

  31. GravatarBy Ed on Apr 28, 2008 | Reply

Yep Hurn out for a month with a fractured fibula and Kerr faces up to 5 weeks out due to his headbutt.

  32. GravatarBy Raf on Apr 28, 2008 | Reply

Who’re the “I hope you at least had these guys by round 3 or you lost” guys?

Rioli for sure. Palmer for sure (ok, you had until round 4 on Palmer). Bradshaw (in the backline) for sure. Nick Stevens probably. Hill probably.

  33. GravatarBy Ed on Apr 28, 2008 | Reply

Hill definitely. He went up $72k or something after round 3. Simmonds too.

  34. GravatarBy Toddy on Apr 28, 2008 | Reply

    Medhurst. :)

I’m keeping the Chad - I’ve gone a bit feral and used 6 trades already so he stays. And he is possibly my favourite player, all because of DT (and I’m a Crows supporter)!

    Some facts about Chad Cornes:

He is so good that it only takes him 20 minutes to watch 60 minutes.

He is so good that he once kicked a footy so high that he was able to run and mark it himself. Two days later. In Mexico.

He is so good that Superman wears Chad Cornes pyjamas.
