You’ve signed up to the AFL Dream Team competition this year and are making up your team… you’ve made up a cool team name (something really creative like “Adam’s Team”), chosen your team uniform, joined a league with your mates (or got into a DT Talk League) and started slotting some players into your team. There are some things on DT Talk (and other places around the web) that can help you in these trying times. Here are just a few things that may help you out.
-
Get a “DT Shopping List“ together. Use posts from our site from the “Selecting Your Team” and “DT Analysis” categories and work our your must have players. Pick them and build your team around that.
-
Read, in depth, the “Fantasy Freako” Pre-Season Rave mailouts thanks to Champion Data. These are jam packed with DT Scores from the NAB Cup/NAB Challenge matches plus advice from the “Freak”.
-
Be up to date with all AFL news… we regularly visit the AFL Blog (who recently posted a DT Survival Guide), the Herald Sun SuperFooty site, The Age’s Real Footy site and more, which can be accessed from the links on the side of this site. Regularly do this so you can be aware of injuries and who may or may not get a gig in round one.
- Also check the other sensational Dream Team websites kicking around: FanFooty and it’s Blog, Dream Team Hero, Coaches Box Podcast, Dream Team Forum, Football Salvation and read what a range of people write about at BigFooty.
- Get your team together and see what others think of it in our DT Talk Forum. There is a special forum dedicated to this which is called: ”Pimp My Team“. Offer advice to others too.
- If you are really a beginner… read “A Rookies Guide To AFL Dream Team“. It gives you a heads up about how to get your team sorted!
- When you get over looking at numbers, stats and stuff, watch some of our YouTube VidCasts - especially the Pre-Season Episode 1 and Episode 2 videos as well as some of our work from last year on our YouTube page!
Time is ticking by… First Lockout is at 6:10pm Thursday night (Melbourne time), so get that team locked in (making sure you have a captain and vice captain selected!!) and you will be ready to roll for what promises to be the best year of Dream Team ever!
