Stuff We Know (or think we know)

AFL Prospectus ‘08After spending hours and hours reading the fantastic AFL Prospectus and hearing stuff from little birdies, I think it is safe to assume a few things about DT in 2008…

  • The salary cap for 2008 will be $7,431,000 which is an increase on last year’s, however the “Magic Number” has increased also (which therefore increases players prices). In short, it’s going to be harder to pick the guns!
  • As discussed (and pioneered by DT Talk… we’ll take the credit for it… haha…) in Episode 5 of our VidCast last year (watch from about 1:30), we threw out the idea of a Vice Captain because of the damn late withdrawals. According to the Prospectus there is a “whisper that the rules will allow a vice captain in ‘08″. Thank DT Talk for that! Haha…
  • The NAB Cup version of the Footy Record apparently has an extensive DT feature in there with ALL player prices!

There is so much awesome info in the AFL Prospectus… and no, this isn’t just a big plug for it… you could spends days and days reading it! The Fantasy Land section is tops… Did you know that Dean Cox averages 1.13 points per minute? Did you know Matthew Pavlich is the most most durable player in the league? Did you know that Scott Pendlebury was the most consistant player in ‘07?

    Nice call on the Vice Captain. Also will the multiplier being larger mean picking lower players that have breakout years will mean that you get greater rewards?

    yeah molly.. i reckon it will.. because the ‘magic number’ is bigger, then the recent form thing multiplied by that number will make prices increase more, but it is obviously all relative! hmm.. gonna be interesting!!

    i agree on the vice captain i lost the flag cos of it

    and i think that the dt count downer is off
